Chua said, "The Hotel was great, very spacious as I booked the suite room. The location is great for those who are tired of high rise buildings. The staff of the hotel not very helpful as nobody oriented us on the room when we check in. As we booked the suite room, we don t know that actually the living room need to be enter separately from another door outside, we wasted 2 hrs beofre we figure out the orientation of the suite room in this hotel. The toilet was not clean properly, you could see stains. I wonder if a sutie room could have this kind of things happening, what will be like in the deluxe & standard room..?? Overall,ok."

Joanne said, "The rooms are nice, and the staff is very helpful. The location is right next to a river taxi stop, but it was difficult getting taxis to take us back at night from the Suan Lum night market. It was a little difficult communicating with the front desk staff at times - not everyone s English was very good. We were talked into an expensive private car to the airport one morning, but later found out there are plenty of taxis 24 hours a day. We booked a tour to the floating market that was a good price, much better than booking the tour at the airport. I was disappointed with the Thai massage at the hotel - nowhere near as good as four years ago when I was there."

Roos said, "Reception service was unefficient and ignorant, otherwise the facilities were ok. The location was far-away from the centre and the boat traffic finished too early. I do not recommend, as a whole."

Mr. said, "Hotel was nice, for 2500 baht or $80.00 us dollars. I have a topfloor w/ river, and bangkok city view.( very nice ).The room was huge, but TV was small...lol. The location was ok, short TAXI ride to city. The breakfast was ok, service was good. I will come back again, and beware of long TAXI ride from the Airport, about 20 minutes with little traffic."

N.J.Roeleveld said, "This is the third time that I stay in this hotel and it s always a pleasure.Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean although the room I was staying in ( and probably most of the other rooms) need some work. I m very pleased with the free shuttle boat to China fown. I will certainly stay there again."

Charles said, "We stay at the Royal River Hotel each year when we go to Thailand. For us it is not to expensive and the rooms are nice and clean. We like the Deluxe River View room. The staff are very nice and the breakfast is very good. Even the food from the resturant at night is very good. The hotel is also centrally located to all our favorite shopping places and resturants. We would recommend it to anyone."

Palle said, "We got a verry nice room with river- view, exelent!Verry, verry good service from the the staff. Shuttle boat works fine! Public boat(13 baht) 300 m from the hotel, who reach all the riverstation until 19oo in the evening.- I am shure we will be back!"

Agnieszka said, "Our river front room was very good: big balcony, nice sitting area, in-room safe, very clean. Good service. Easy access by public boat to major attractions. I would use it again without any hesitation."

Haakon said, "To stay at the riverfront is a must on this hotel. We felt really confortable until we met a mouse ! trying to enter our room. That was not nice. Maybe there are several mice in the hotel, even in the kitchen, we thought. On the other side we liked the place. It was quiet and we had a good sight of greater Bangkok. Easy to take the taxi ferries to the places we wanted to visit. Good food."

Mr said, "Extremely good value and very friendly and helpul staff We have I wasn t sure the taxi driver knew where he was going. It seemed we were driving down a back alley. But then we pulled up to the lobby and I knew we were at the right place. I found the hotel to be perfect for my first 3 nights in Thailand as a single female traveler. It was so nice to be able to use the boat system to get around and it was right by the hotel. I thought the breakfasts were phenomenal and the hospitality manager was oustanding in trying to ensure my safety and that I had a good stay in Bangkok. He was like a second dad. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I had a river view room and would highly suggest paying a little more to have the balcony with the view. If you want to be close to the nightlife, it s not, but that is not what I had wanted. I would definitely stay here again."

Nasim said, "The Royal River Hotel has very manysuperb attributes and just one serious fault. The good points relevant to this hotel include: - Superb, efficient and friendly service; - Really outstanding views of the river visible from the external dining area along the bank of the river, - Some really outstanding eating places; such as the River Bar; located within a few minutes walking distance from this hotel. The only minus point relevant to this hotel is that it is far from the main shopping (Chit Lom) and night life areas of Bangkok. Because of traffic, it takes a very long time to get such places, from this hotel, via taxi. The hotel has a free bus and boat service that conveys one to areas near the Sapin Taxin BTS , but the last return ferry is around 17.30 hours, so that if one is incined to visit some of Bangkok s night life areas, the only option of returning is via taxi, a very time consuming option. It would really be a great help if the hotel could schedule it s ferry / taxi services in a manner that enables late nighters to return in a more convenient manner."

Hitoshi said, "Located on the other site on the river, but it is very convenient to access downtown area via the nearby bridge or hotel boat service. Also it is in quiet place with beautiful views."

Martin said, "Our family visited Royal river hotel for our second time.(2003) we are very pleased by the hotel.Nice rooms and GREAT dinnerbufé on the teracce,were you can sit and dine just by the river.They have also recently renovated the pool wich is very nice.Can recomend a stay here ."

Ashima said, "Terrible place! discriminated against indians as was full of germasn/ swedes.Had a run in with the general manager who treated us like shit! would never go there or recommend any one who is of coloured skin to go there either! Since we needed the room only for a day (were checking out in the evening to take a bus to krabi), he basicaly implied that i was a hooker (i have not taken my husbands name, but kept maiden name). Was a terrible experinmce!"

Ian said, "Royal river hotel is a little way out from Bangkok, but is an easy cab ride to city area, hotel was vary clean and pleasant being right on the river, staff at check in were efficient, friendly and spoke reasonable english, the food at all resturants in the hotel was excellent, we booked a one bedroom suite with river view (corner suite ) and it was HUGE a must if staying at this hotel, also a short boat ride courtisy of the hotel will take you to a main shopping complex and back.a future visit to the Royal river hotel would be most welcome. HIHGLY RECOMMENDED"

John said, "Very nice hotel, even though it s located quite far from the main attractions of Bangkok. However, the express river boats, taxis and tuk tuks will readily take you into the city centre for a small fee. The hotel does have a free boat service, but this only runs twice per day, so it isn t always convenient. We booked a Junior Suite, which cost 3500 Baht for 1 night. The room was enormous, with lounge, dining area, study area and bar, plus balconies on 3 sides of the room! The breakfast was reasonable (apart from the coffee!). The swimming pool was nice and quiet, and faces West. The hotel is in need of refurbishment, as it does look rather dated, but it was clean and tidy. The staff (particularly the reception and dining staff) spoke very little English. We therefore found it very hard to obtain the information we required. We would return to this hotel again - the prices are very reasonable (due to the location), and the views are fantastic. Don t go for this hotel if you want to stay somewhere that has restaurants, bars, tourist attractions and shops on your doorstep, because you ll only be disappointed. However, if you re prepared to travel 20 minutes to get into the city centre, this hotel offers very good value for money."

Ivan said, "We had a triple room with river view but they gave us a room on the other side without a seaview, because they actualy dont have triple rooms with river view?! Its a booking mistake but we didnt get any refund. The rooms are huge and very nice, the best i have ever seen!The hotel is realy nice, breakfast is perfect.Extra services are very expensive.Location is not good, Far away from the city, taxi is about 200-300 bath. There is a free shutle boot to one big shopping center but from there u need again a taxi to the real center of Bangkok. I would stay in the Royal city hotel next time."

Elaine said, "Good Value and Service. Room was large bright and very clean, and breakfast offered a good selection - lots of wonderful fresh fruit. While location is not central, the hotel is right on the river and offers a river shuttle to River City Shopping Centre. The shuttle ferry route passes all the main temples and offers a lovely intro to the city."

Jane said, "Nice, clean hotel. We had chosen a suite which was just a very big room with the same furniture as in a normal room. But all in all a nice hotel and with a wonderfull view of the river."

Gloria said, "I found the hotel wonderful. It was particularly nice to enjoy the river views from a room on the 9th floor. The room was very spacious, as was the balcony. And the service throughout was excellent -- including daily shuttles to River City, breakfast and cleaning."

Richard said, "Good riverside position but not centrally located, although there is a free shuttle boat to River City Shopping centre. Rooms showing signs of age and in need of refurbishment. Buffet breakfast good. Staff not good at resolving problems with noisy guests."

The rooms along the river are beautifull and the view on Bangkok s buildings is wonderfull. It s also so easy and pleasant to travel on the Chao Praya River to go to the most interesting monuments and so, escape to the traffic jam of Bangkok."

Bauert said, "Hotel is good for the price. Rooms are big and clean. Breakfast was fine and the evening buffet was very good. What we didn t like was the aircondition (too loud and too cold) Also the hotel bar was much too cold. But still could imagine to go back again."

Linda said, " coming from Bangkok - great hotel with really attentive staff. The only downside is that it s a ways out of the center. I initially chose it thinking I could use the Express Boat - but they finish at 6:30 p.m. which left me to the mercy of the taxis!!"

Michael said, "Very good hotel - service was efficient and professional. Food and drinks cost a bit more than outside the hotel but this is to be expected. Very handy to the riverbus pier about 100 metres away which takes you down the river for about 15 baht. Deluxe riverview room is good value and huge with a large balcony and sweeping views over the river. Taxi from airport to hotel was 350 baht but metered taxi (organised by doorman) back to airport was 150 baht! Facilities can become briefly crowded when tour buses arrive and depart. Location of hotel slightly away from the action but much quieter as a result and still cheap to get to places. Recommended."

Barbara said, "It was a very nice and friendly hotel. I found the service competent and friendly. The pool was fun to swim in but not good for little children since it was too deep for them. The hot tub could ve been hotter. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to others."

Sebastien said, "Nice hotel with a good view of Bangkok. Restaurant purpose a large choice of dish with oriental and occidental plates.Hotel team is pleasant and helpful. There are open mind and ever try to satisfy you during your stay.Nevertheless in outside restaurant there was lot of circulation noise due to the presence of bridge close to the hotel (but phone insulation in bedroom is good and you can sleep). Furthermore do not hesitate to ask for a view of the river otherwise you could have a blind room without any windows."

George said, "This was my third stay at the Royal River Hotel. My experiences have been pleasant. The service was good, the rooms have been pleasant, even though there have been minor experiences with plumbing that didn t work properly. Minor things like a shower head that tended to flood the bathroom floor, and a sink stopper that opened only enought to let water out very slowly. The meals in the coffee shop and on the terrace were excellent. An extra service that I enjoyed was the boat shuttle to the River Center shopping area."

Location is fine for using the river ferries, although a bit away from the main BKK action. Staff pleasant & friendly. Dinner buffet on terrace well worth trying. Main tour desk seemed to lack enthusiasm, but Limo team were very good for our private trip to Floating Market."

Mohd said, "I was very happy that I only hospitality of the Service Staff from the Bell Boy to the Receptionist and operator. I arrived from Phuket in the evening due to a delay in flight. Tired and frustrated, I was received by a Bell Boy who questioned me where was I going. Still not agitated, I replied that I had reservation and my wife showed him a computer print out of the email. He glanced through it and the next questioned that was vomitted out his mouth was Are sure that you come to the right hotel ? Frustrated, I showed him the name of the hotel reflected on the email and he asked me to proceed to the receptionist. I guess, I received such a treatment because both my wife and I were Asian, and we were dressed very casually(considering that we were from a beach resort from Phuket. But we were still dressed decently, wearing jeans and collared t-shirt.I had another bad experience with the receptionist who was preoccupied to answer that the room is full or occupied without listening carefully what was going to be said by me. Anyway, as I said, I was very happy to only booked the racist hotel for a night. I checked out the following and left for another hotel!!!"
