Johan said, "Good location. Near Patpong and many massage parlours and street vendors. I enjoy the nightlife so this is great. This hotel is up an alley which has a 7-11 and seafood restaurant. The new Meridian hotel is right in front of it. My double standard room is a bit small but clean and comfy. Aircon works well. The bathroom is long and narrow. The elevator only serves up to level 5 so I have to walk up one floor to my room on level 6. Elevator makes slamming noises some times but no problem for me as its not too loud. Service and security staff are friendly. I got extra pillows and blankets from the housekeeping very quickly. Fresh condoms placed in my room but didn t use them. View from my room was bad as I saw ugly rooftops all the way. But I keep the curtains shut most of the time so wasn t an issue. Flooring is wood tiled which i liked. Pool is beautiful. There is a sliding entrance/exit door at the lobby next to the tour operator desk. This door is locked every 6pm. I wish guests could have access through this door all the time. I like this hotel. Will stay again."

Philippe said, "Hotel was nice and clean...But the water in the shower was changing from hot to cold every 2 minutes making it not pleasant to take a shower...Also... there is a VERY IRRITATING NOISE, that is going on NON STOP ALL DAY EVERY DAY .... it last about 5 to 10 seconds, and you can hear it every 2 minutes or so.... you can easily hear that if you just go on the sixth floor and wait there.... It was waking us up very often during the night. beside that everything was ok."

BS said, "The hotel is secluded, out of the main road, which is good to avoid noise of the street, but most taxi drivers didn t know where to find it. Breakfast is below average. Receptionists can t speak english well. Rate is expensive what the Hotel has to offer. There is a good swimming pool and a restaurant at the back of the hotel. Short stroll to Patpong nightlife but beware of touts who are going to hassle you all the time."

Clyde said, "The hotel is a medium class hotel, but the staff is simply amazing, going out of their way to please their guests. I was very happy with my stay there as a result. Any issues I had were looked after without argument and with immediate action. Nice restaurant on site"

TETSUYA said, "it is near Patpong or Silom. So the location was very good. There is no hand towel, room shoes(slippers), hair drier in the room. And then the level of breakfast was not so high(not buffet style). I think this hotel is suitable for price."

Mr said, "The hotel is located in a small soi off Surawongse Road. Although Patpong Road 2 is located nearby on the other side of Surawongse Road, the hotel is quiet. The Sala Daeng Skytrain station is about a 5 minute walk away, the Silom MRT Underground about 10 minutes.The reception staff and porters were helpful and friendly. The room was smaller but clean, obviously having been recently partly renovated (bathroom, flooring etc). There is an in-room safe.The hotel pool and small garden is well kept. The breakfast was ok, though not a buffet breakfast.Overall, a pleasant and enjoyable stay."

If you don t mind being literally 50 yards from the somewhat-seedy patpong area, I d recommend this hotel for someone wanting a nice, clean, moderately priced hotel."

Gerald said, "This was my first stay at the Rose.I can say they did a great job on the renovation. My room was up to date in all respects, with room safe, strong A/C, mini bar fridge, clean with some B/R amenities. Great pool area. Friendly front desk. Some construction was underway next door Dec. 07, so try to get a room on the other side of the hotel. Otherwise a perfect stay, wd stay again for sure."

Jason said, "I the room was decent. It s not a four star but it is quite modern and is walking distance to the main red light/gay district and the skytrain, which can take to you many places (faster than taxi given the traffic in bangkok). That said, the staff did mess up on my reservations and I had to move to another room that smelled like smoke, there was no iron or blow dryer (and I couldn t bring mine from the US cause of the voltage difference) and the internet was expensive... I recommend walking 2 blocks to patpong district to get cheap internet."

Judith said, "A great hotel, close the lively Patpong area. The staff was great, and very helpfull when our transfer from and to the airport did not show up in time. They really put effort in helping us calling the travelagency and taxiservice. The beds where a bit to hard but the hotelrooms are good enough for a short stay in Bangkok. For our next stay in Bangkok we will return there."

The gay strips (both) are just a 5 minute stroll from the hotel.It s also close to Sky Train and Metro stations and Silom Road buses. The airport express bus also goes to Silom road so no need to catch a cab.Brand new swimming pool/gym/sauna which is great if you re moving around BKK. On the minus side, the shower in the room was one of those that is either too hot or too cold, but not a problem in Bangkok weather where you can just have cold showers. The aricon unit in the room was a little bit noisy but not enough to keep me awake.I definitely recommend the place, great service and good value. Just a small detail: ask for a room no further than the 5th floor. The lift doesn t reach the 6th and the hallways are not air conditioned (but hey, that s just me being picky)."

Fernanda said, "The hotel is very good, rooms are clean and the swimming pool is great after a long day around BKK. Since the hotel is kind of hidden it was really hard for the driver to find it, he had to stop for directions at least 4 times. Great location, just 2 block from Skytrain station and 2 blocks from subway. The staff was really nice but whenever my husband and I asked for tourist information they always tried to push some tour package on us. They also told us that the train station was closed and that info was not correct. But overall we loved and we would definitely stay there again!!"

John said, "I recently it has undergone upgrades which has made it much more comfortable. The rooms now have modern furniture, flooring, and fixtures. The lobby has been upgraded too, and a swimming pool squeezed into a space in the back of the hotel. It still suffers from a small elevator and a phone system which doesn t allow direct dialing to the outside. It s at the end of a smelly and dark alley off Suriwong road, but don t let that scare you off. It s a good location not far from Silom and Rama 4."

Trevor said, "I was happily impressed with the Rose Hotel. It is well situated, the rooms are simple but much better than similar priced hotels locally and the staff were excellent.For location and value for money it would be very hard to beat."

John said, "Very conveniently located hotel. The staff was very friendly and efficient. It was set back from a busy street and was very quiet given it s great location. The room was very clean and comfortable. I d stay there during my next visit to Bangkok."

Christopher said, "I was disappointed. This was my second trip to the Rose Hotel, the two experiences were very different. I was thrilled with the first visit last November 2005, the Suite was lovely and everything was great. I returned in July 06 and I was so disappointed with the Hotel. The staff were all great and helpful but the room (Room 601) was not great at all. The Bathroom smelled really foul and there was a noise at night every time the elevator was operated. The elevator also only went to the 5th Floor and you had to get out and walk the next flight of stairs. As we were only staying for one night we did not complain but it was not a good experience :o("

Brian said, "Hotel is tastefully furnished, must be a 50 s or 60 s bldg refurbished recently, pool is still under construction! Room can be bigger, just nice for two if you do not intend to spend lots of time in it except sleep at nite if not it can be a bit claustrophobic. Adjacent is Montien Patpon on right & new bldg under construction on left so may have some noise daytime. Breakfast is passable, staffs are friendly. Aircond & water heater not consistent enough though, showering is a bit tedious if you prefer warm water thruout. Good location, bring a hotel card out if u take a cab as it s tucked away in a small corner. BTS Saladaeng 10mins walk away. May come back when pool is ready n if rate remains reasonable."

There is a hotel brochure that has nice photos of the hoteland all is correct except the swimmingpool has´nt yet been built but is under constuction.The location is good, near Patpong market and nightlife.I will definatly stay there again!"

Michael said, "Great location for the Patpong area, and easy access to the BTS Skytrain. As some reviews mention, there is construction going on next to theh hotel so you need to ask to move if you are a light sleeper...they do work almost around the clock fyi. i found it not to be so bad since the ac unit provides some nice white noise but a sleepover friend talked me into switching rooms, a good move in the end. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The rooms are promptly cleaned, safe and comfy. I only found that the water seemed to have a less than desirable odor from time to time, not sure if it s a BKK thing or what, it was sulfuric from time to time in the room, and went away once the ac came on...but it was slightly annoying. Otherwise it s a gem in the heart of BKK."

Kelly said, "Nice, clean and cosy. Just like what you see on this web. Decor is contemporary, designer style coupled with a piece or two of retro furniture. We took a double-bed room. Room was relatively small but live-able. Bed was very comfy with a nicely-firm-enough mattress. However, the first night was rather unpleasant due to some constant drumming noises throughout the night and the hot shower is not working. After we ve requested to change room the next day, which they did promptly, we ve no more complaints and slept soundly throughout. Breakfast is the same everyday. American, Continental or Asian. Location is great if you are not crazy about staying next door to the main shopping belt in Siam area, which is what we are avoiding. Although it s across the sleazy Patpong road, it s tucked away in a small lane, so it s not that noisy. It s generally ok and people around don t really bother you. There s a construction site besides the hotel though. It s about 7min walk to the nearest BTS Saladeang station but it doesnt really cost much of a difference if you take a taxi outside the hotel with 2 person or more. The fare is plus minus 15baht. (Traffic jam not included). Some taxi drivers may not know the hotel so we need to guide them abit. Best to get the hotel namecard with directions in Thai for the drivers. I will happily stay there again"

One minor drawback is the hot water which is on/off intermittently; however, for the price, it is worth to stay local to the happening place."

Ramon said, "this was very good value. it was quite plush for the price -- classy decor, terrific position near Patpong but kinda removed from the worst of it. friendly (and occasionally cheeky) staff. it s an old R&R joint but the only time you can tell that is when you re in the corridors -- the rooms themselves have been completely worked over. beware: there was a massive construction site outside my window and this made sleeping difficult, but i can t say this was the hotel s fault. i would happily stay here again."
