Craig said, "On first thought, I would certainly visit again. The room was adequately for our needs, neat and the noise of being on Surawong didn t really bother us. One of our group had somewhat less luck with an air conditioner that couldn t be controlled. The breakfast I would skip altogether and venture out for something more memorable--local or international. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly with advice on travel and arranging a special viewing of the Super Bowl (!)."
Peter said, "The rooms are good. The staff friendly and very helpfull. The breakfast is boring and could be better. I would stay there again - did on the last day home. The worst about the place is the 15 minuts walk from the river."
Ronald said, "Hotel was well located, though it is small and not well known by the taxi community (get one of their cards with a map on it!) Staff was very kind and eager to please. Room was pleasant, nicely appointed, somewhat of an understated elegance. Bed was on the firm side, as it was a futon mattress -- still pretty comfortable. We will be returning to the same facility next week with no regrets. Improvments to be made: breakfast was a bit lite (juice, wonderful fruit and low-quality toast). Overall, on a 1-5 scale, for the money I d give it a 4. -- rp."
Natalia said, "Great hotel, quaint and very clean. Staff is very friendly and it is in a good location."
Peter said, "This is more then most of the 30 to 80 US$ Hotels in Bangkok. Clean right sized rooms for two with a touch of Design. We asked for a non-smoking room - no problem the room was not smelling. The location is perfect. 8 minutes to the BTS, 5 minutes to the Patpong nightmarket, good Seafood restaurants around the La Residence. The staff was helpfull, kind and humorous - excellent!Mnibar, TV, big Shower, AC (relatively quiet)We come back!"
Ashley said, "Good location, but not good service or breakfast. Expensive for the quality of the room and breakfast. No shampoo. Not as new as looks. Safety deposit box in large size rooms."
Chalie said, "Hotel rooms are nice and sexy. It arouses me everytime I went in. However, the service is too terrible, the manager (male) at the front office was unfriendly and the face is like we owes him money. Breakfast are terrible - well only one choice that is bread and bread and bread! unlike other hotels i.e. rose hotels, they have choices. Employee at restaurant cant get a simple request done such as half boiled egg, they will give you an almost boiled egg. The manager told off the employee for giving us a free flow (they said yes to a free flow coffee but not the manager..hmmnn.. contridicting information) coffee/tea in front of us.. fortunately we have a thai friend with us! overall, I will not stay in this hotel anymore!"
Alison said, "Nice hotel, good-sized rooms and very helpful staff. Good location (5 mins walk from Patpong/skytrain and lots of lovely street foodstalls along the way). I recommend Somboon, the seafood restaurant nearby. The only thing that let it down was the breakfast. Would definitely stay there again though."
Leigh said, "We had a quiet large one bedroom suite which was very well appointed. The hotel is in a good location. The dining room didn t seem to be open as we had expected however. Overall a very good rating."
John said, "Very nice hotel and price in Bangkok. Very clean and huge bed. Nice an close to the night market, and very easy to get anywhere.Would go back! Just don t count on the breakfasts, as there is very little on offer."
Fedor said, "The place isn t bad. Very cute and arty decorations. I love the bear sign which they used on the door. The staff is super-nice there. Would give them the best score ever. Very helpful and nice. :)A few drawbacks thu:1. I guess its abit pricey for a guest house (I felt it was more a guest house, than hotel, and 1700 for a guesthouse type of place was abit pricey).2. The rooms don t separate into smoking and non-smoking, which is probably not the best thing to do. 3. The breakfast lacked variety and included toasts and coffee. I guess for a price of 1700, we expected something more advanced. :)Also its abit of walk to the nearest skytrain station, but if you enjoy it, 10 minutes walk isn t a problem :)"
Alessandro said, "We our group occupied 4 rooms. So we have a complete idea about hotel and services. The management is helpful and efficient. Hotel is small, so any need or request can be satisfied easily and quickly. The location is good (near Patpong night market, with many restaurants in the purlieus (and more...), but taxi drivers never knew the address. So it s almost necessary to have it written in Thai (ask to the hotel bureau). Clean and quite wide rooms, even if not recently upgraded. Breakfast is really poor."
Mr. said, "a most wonderful hotel... small. quaint... the staff w3as simply amazing. kept our luggage in storage for days on end while we were trekking around the rest of thailand!!!very well placed, within 15 minutes of the ferry and right next to the patpong night market, will definitely come bakc..."
Monica said, "a gem of a hotel in the heart of the city. very cozy and unique with a funky-chic vibe. loved it!"
Mr said, "Very cool lobby and rooms. This hotel has a modern minimalistic design that is far from the normal boring standard rooms in Thailand. The service is fantastic. We were allowed to leave our luggage for a couple of days free of charge and were recommended places to visit and good restaurants, always with a smile. The only backside is that it´s a little bit off Bangkok centre, other than that we can highly recommend this hotel."
Sheilala said, "small but with character. good management with friendly and helpful staff. breakfast needs improvement. a bit far away from BTS (Chong Nonsi) but still acceptable."
Ms.D.L said, "Cute, clean, and safe. Convenient location, friendly staff. Good value for two people but for third person it s too much -- you fare better at 4 star hotel or priceline a 5 star. Breakfast at 100 baht (forced into your room price) is too expensive for just a piece of toast, OJ, and tea. Would stay again if only travelling with one other and wanted to save a couple hundred baht."
Ms. said, "Small hotel that s quaint with clean & cosy rooms. Rooms facing the main road can be a bit noisy. Request for rooms away from the road if you want noise kept minimum. Room safe a/v. Staff were friendly & helpful. Continental breakfast (toast,coffee/tea & juice) could have a bit more variety. Would have been nice if there were tea/coffee maker in the rooms. As for convenience, Patpong is 10mins walk, skytrain 7mins & very easy to hail taxis outside the hotel. The food market nearby is worth a visit for local Thai yummies. Overall - recommended & good value for money."
Elizabeth said, "Cannot fault the hotel.Room and facilities were of a high standard. Very comfortable.Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Location of hotel is excellent. Only 5 mins walk to Patpong nightlife and night market.Less than a 10 minute walk to Chong Nonsi sky train which is only 3 stops to Taksim, where the central river pier is to catch the river cruise ferries for all the main attractions in Bangkok.Would highly recommend this hotel and am looking forward to staying there again on my next visit to Bangkok.Extremely good value for money."
Robert said, "We were verty pleased with La residence , small but with excellant service , very clean and very comfortable and our room on the 7th floor was quiet ! such a relief from the chaos of bangkok . For the price it was a wonderful expierience ."
Ms. said, "Hotel well located for shopping districts and old Bangkok easily accessible by tuctuc. Staff were very helpful and friendly and rooms were always clean and comfortable. A good choice for a mid-range hotel in the city."
Marion said, "Very nice and clean location for those who want to be near city and evening attractions (Patpong). To reach the main tourist attractions (temples..) is very easy by taxi (20 min. approx. 140 Baht) and faster like bus (45 min.). The hotel is very lovely designed, the rooms are clean and calm. We loved it there and would go back!"
Ashley said, "I found the hotel to be an excellent hotel with very good value for money. The staff is very friendly, comfortable with English and also maintain a dicreet presence and their employees set this place apart from other hotels I have shopping areas. The staff are exceptionally friendly and the rooms are well designed in a modern fashion and very clean. The place is good value for money and strongly recommended"
N said, "I was in Bangkok for a week staying in 3 different hotels. This by far was my favorite. Very tastefully modern hip decor, very clean, very relaxing. The staff was wonderful-- friendly, helpful and giving me great advice on good places to visit. Location is good, near the Sky Train (the bulk of temples can be reached by the river ferry accessible a few Sky Train stops away), around the block from the Patapong night market on Silom, not far from the Airport Bus stop, and (if you re into it) walking distance from Boys Town and lots of clubs where scantily clad women beckon men to view them while table dancing. Patapong market, massage parlors and food in the neighboorhood is relatively expensive, the vendors are agressive and the influence of the redlight district and boys town is clear. The same goods can be bought at Banglumpoo night market for about 1/3 the price, the vendors are less agressive, and the nightlife is less obviously sex oriented."
clee said, "A small hotel which won t tell you anything by looking at the exterior of the hotel. it looks rather old, but you will find the inside a different story. it s very stylish, warm and cosy the inside. The interiors are nicely renovated where the bathroom is clean. The breakfast is simple, toast with jam, orange juice and tea/coffee. In general, the service is great."
Ms. said, "Beautiful hotel.Staff pleasant and helpful. We helpful staff. I am particularly impressed with the cleaniness of the room, esp. the toilet; you can t find a dirty spot! The room is cozy, the bed is excellent, actually the best (firm enough but not too hard) in my Thailand trip even compared with other much more expensive hotels! I definitely recommend this hotel and would come back."
Raymond said, "This is a small but stylish and tastefully-decorated hotel strategically located in the Suriwongse/Silom area. My single room was somewhat tiny but clean and functional and I have no complaints whatsoever. What the botel may lack in size was made up for by the staff s courtesy, friendliness and helpfulness. This is a good choice for budget ravellers and I enjoyed my stay there. Would certainly consider using it again.Within walking distances are BTS Chongnonsi station and Patpong district. The must-try Somboon seafood restaurant, popular with locals,is also just a stone s throw away!"
Stephen said, "Very nice small hotel, with lovely staff, nicely decorated rooms. Quite convenient to everything."
Mr. said, "It is not a porsche hotel but one cosy little hotel hiding off the popular spot, Patpong. Room is clean and service at the reception is fabulous. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel. Bus 16 brings one to Siam Square in less than 10 mins. Chong Nongsi BTS station is just off the corner. Many nice restaurant nearby. Vanda Jass Bar is recommendable. How I get to know all these. Because I have good hotel staffs who are willing to share. Thanks to La Residence."
Jerome said, "Excellent place to stay for a visit to Bangkok. Rooms are cosy and athestically decorated in zen inspired theme. Suprisingly quiet, albeit next to Suriwongse street. Efficient chambermaid in making up room and turndown service makes the hotel feels homely. Friendly and polite staff at reception. Would definitely stay again for next visit.Included continental breakfast a bit bland."
Mr. said, "Staff was very accomodating. Double room was decent size although #6 faces major street and is noisy. I thought the price (1500) was too high for location and room after checking other hotels in BKK once there. TV did not work throughout stay. Would not go back."
Ulrike said, "La Residence is a very nice place to stay and rest! It´s clean and quiet, the staff is great and the rooms are wonderful!!!"
Choon-Tee said, "Nice boutique style hotel within 10 minutes walk from the Patpong area, and 7 minutes walk to the nearest BTS station-Chomsuri. By paying BHT 100 per day, u can unlimited access to the two PCs internet service located at the ground floorRecommend for individual travellers with nice room but with budget in mind."
