Narai Hotel Bangkok

AKE said, "Good location close to Silom Road Willage Market and Patpong Night market. Nice room at 12 th floor with plenty of views over Bangkok. Nice and very helpful staff who arranged shower room after checking out, before leaving to the airport. Breakfast inclued was nice but the restaurang was very noicy. I ve will most likely do it again. Didn t eat and drink at the hotel so can t judge the restaurant and the bar."

Susan said, "Very pleasant hotel. Buffet breakfast is good and varied. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Nice rooms. Dont use taxi s outside, they are a total ripoff. Only complaint is that both times I can t adjust it."

brenton said, "Breakfast was good...the standard room we very similar to what they were like fifteen years ago,That the taxi scammers are allowed to operate on Narai property,just outside the front door is a disappointment.I was told that the train for Hua Hin did not leave from Hua Lamphong station ,but from a station that sounded something like bangnoi .I had spoken to the train station the day before and knew full well that they were trying to falsely maximise the taxi fare by taking us to a distant train station."

Location - walkable distance to skytrain, and close to food stalls and shopping centres (robinson, silom centre) also night clubThings to avoid: dont use the phone it is expensive, complimentary water is only for first day, subsequent days are more expensive"

Reuben said, "For the price this is a very acceptable hotel in a fairly convenient location. The hotel itself is a little old but everything works and it is very clean. There are a couple of fairly decent restaurants to be found if you are prepared to walk a little and explore. The hotel has all the features you would expect of an international hotel and for approx 2000 baht a night is good value. However, the taxi company at the front of the hotel is way way overpriced as are the touts in the front drive way and the tuks tuks on the street out the front. My advice would be to walk out the front of the hotel and turn left and walk 40 or 50 metres up the street and hail a meter taxi or walk the 10 minutes to the sky train and save yourself a few hundred baht and have the satisfaction of finding your way round yourself! All in all a very satisfactory hotel with competant and helpful staff, although there are others closer to the action."

Preben said, "Very good value for money! Good breakfast, an international atmosphere, very good rooms (a little old, but in good shape) and they upgraded us from Narai Suites to Executive Suites. No extra charges for babycut. Good and helpfull housekeeping. Helpfull staff, but do you need information regarding trains in Thailand - go on the internet.The pool is ok, but not suitable for a baby.Highly recommended if you will stay central in the Silom area."

Susan said, "Well worth the stay!! I ve the Narai is real good value for money. Just dont use their taxi service, rather use the taxi s that pass the hotel, much cheaper. Buffet restaurant is really good. Check-in desk were professional and friendly. No problems with check in. We asked for small pillows as we could not sleep with their huge pillows and we asked for an additional blanket and these were issued within 5 minutes of asking. Room service was also good. I would not however use their massage services, there are much better massage services about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. First hotel I ve used in years that has bent over backwards to accomodate my request for interleading rooms for my 2 children. Well done Narai Hotel!! Nice and central and all the taxi s we used knew where the hotel was. My children complained that there was far too much chlorine used in the pool, but I think this is the general thing in Thailand, as I ve read lots of complaints about other hotels as well. I can definately recommend the Narai hotel. I will be back next year."

Restaurant had excellent food against reasonable prices (for Thailand) General accommodation looked nice (entrance/restaurants). Position of the hotel at Silom Rd is good. All events and interesting places could be wel reached by taxi or tuk tuk."

Nasser said, "i would recommend everyone to ensure you stay in a superior room/floor only!!rooms below this level are just not happening.The service was average,the pepperoni restaurant staff is extremely courteous.a bit far from patpong area not really walking distance a cab would take 50baht to drop you to patpong.I dont think id be staying there again.But overall on a scale of 1 to 10 id rate the hotel 5"

Frances said, "This hotel is in a great location. Only a short walk from BTS & restaurants on the doorstep. Try the nice one as you come at Chong Nonsi(?) not touristy obviously caters for the local office workers. Breakfast good. Rooms small & tired but for the price OK. We had a problem as we had booked a triple room but on arrival discovered they don t have standard triple rooms & they took us to a small twin room (2 single beds)they intended putting a 3rd bed in between the other 2 single beds. We had to upgrade so beware of this when booking through Sawadee. I would go back for price & location."

Ralf said, "Nice Place to stay if you want to discover Bangkok. Absolutely central at Silom road with lots of shops and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff, nice lounge and bar, 2 restaurants (that we have not tried), complete breakfast buffet. Even if the rooms were a little tired, they were absolutely clean. This is a hotel that we would recommend for a few-days-stay for sightseeing."

Jenni said, "We we were really pleased to it. Room was average standard room with double bed so nothing special to say about it but it was clean and nice. The staff and the service every where was very kind and helpful. And compering to our previous hotels excellent because everybody spoke fluent english!! Location was also great, just a short walk and you will be in the nearest sky train station. We would certainly stay there again. Really worth of the money. And by the way the italian restaurant on the first floor is really good."

Johan said, "We new year 2006/2007. When we arrived Bangkok it was six o clock in the morning local time and we wasn t supposed to check in until noon. But the staff was very helpful and upgraded our room free of charge when we explained the situation so we were able to have an availible room to get some rest. The room was nice and clean included with a free saftey box with code lock, mini fridge and tv. The hotel also had a nice restaurant, the breakfast buffet was excellent. There was also a pool but we never tried it out. Comfortable walking distance to local shops and skytrain station. We will definately stay at Narai during our next visit to Bangkok!"

M said, "Very nice hotel. Good location. Was upgraded without asking to Better room . Very nice one on 12 th floor. Breakfast very nice. From 5am ! for us early risers. Only thing to complain about is that they did not honor oral promise to check out at 2 o clock. Called and asked us to leave at once at 12.30. Said we had to pay 1500 Bath if we did not leave at once. We did not protest that much as we had no problem leaving. We did not want to take a fight about it.Night porters error not documenting promise to us. Would stay again!"
