Manhattan hotel, Bangkok

Gidwani said, "The location of the hotel is great, the shopping market just around the corner. The sky train and the subway also about two blocked away, it s great. The front desk was ok, the staffs can speak and understand enough english to help.The room stank, there was no exhuast fan in the bathroom, the bathroom door was 1 quart shorted, WHY? The bath tub tiles was molding and disgusting. There were no shampoo, conditioner and bath liquid supplied. The air condition had no tempreture control, it was diffidult. The breakfast was ok, however if you arrive after nine, you will not have much choices for breakfast. It is because they close the breakfast at 10:00am, and they didn t refill whatever is finihed. That was really bad.I think this is the last time I will stay in this hotel."

VOON said, "Like what the others said, it is a old hotel. The light inside the room is limited especially toilet.Room is big. And the construction side just 100m from the hotel make not a loud noise but you will still awake when u heard it even on midnight. Breakfast ok. The rate is for the hotel like this."

Steve said, "Room ok, had just been decorated, 4th level.Asked for double bed but got twin beds. The only real gripe i had is with the leisure facilities. It states that on the second floor there is a gym, sauna, steam room, in fact there is no sauna, steam room and according to a a lady that works there this has been the case for the last 2 years. The gym is a joke, bike and running machine not working and basically not weight lifting machines at all. location of hotel is good. Will stay somewhere else next time though."

COURSIMAULT said, "I was in this hotel just for one night. The room was disguting, walls and carpets were dirty. The room was really depressing !I asked another room. It was simply correct.There is much better in bankok for the same price."

Martinus said, "Nice hotel with a strategic location in Sukhumvit area. Quite clean and nice service. The breakfast was excellent and has a various items. Unfortunately, the room view was awful, we had a room with a building constructing view, so we had never opened our curtain, and the water in the swimming pool is salty. Over all, it s worth to the price :)"

You definitely cannot beat the location, maybe no more than 100meters from sukhumvit rd., and all it s attractions. For the money, this is where I wil stay on my next visit to Bangkok!"

Chew said, "Room and bathroom was clean, although the carpets have seen better times. No hairdryer in the room and you will have to request for it everyday as they remove it when they clean the rooms! Reasonable value for money and location was excellent."

Philip said, "Room was adequate, corrider gloomy with only every other light on. Room service a joke - dirty towel left in bedroom from previous occupent. The next day we didn t get any at all. Bed not finished being made but room cleaned!Swimming pool on ground floor only accessed by stairs from 3rd flooor - very odd, like the hotel really.They don t serve bacon on Saturday or Sunday, no idea why."

George said, "Great Location,freindly and helpful staff.One possible issue: construction on both sides of the hotel so it may be difficult to sleep late.That being said, there seems to be construction on almost every block in Sukimvit area"

George said, "The hotel has 2 types of hotel rooms. Some that are old with stained carpets,peeling wallpaper and mildew everywhere.They have some that have been renovated and are pleasant to stay in, but it is highly likely that you will be put into one of the old smelly rooms with twin beds when you check in. I asked the receptionist what i could do to guarantee a king bed on arrival and was told that I could request but they could not guarantee because 70% of thier rooms are the old style.They are renovating thier rooms one at a time, so you might want towait a couple of years until they complete renovating"

ABF ( ok )Bevore I was booked in UNIKO Leela Hotel best room exec.deluxe , which was really bad, and should also cost 1550 THB. But I not checked in after they showed me 3 rooms there, and Sawadee.com changed me very quick into Manhattten hotel."

Matthes said, "The Hotel is in perfect distance to Sukhumvit Road in the middle and 300m to Asok-Skytrain-Station. Rooms above third floor are clean, big with a real king size bed and nice furniture. The breakfast leaves no wish and the personal is very friendly also. The pool is OK. I will come back for sure. Thx to everybody."

Charlotte said, "Great hotel in a good shopping area. Close to SkyTrain and shopping center. Very good value for money. We ard room which was clean and a good size. The hotel is renovating some rooms right now but that was not disturbing for our stay."

Zimmermann said, "Nice,friendly and helpful staff. Got upgraded, unfortunately into a smoking room that smelt bad. But I was offered another room the next day that was really nice. Breakfast was okay. Only inconveniences: my second room didn t have wifi connection, the internet place of the hotel did not offer cameras and headphones, and the TV channels did not really have English movie channels."

Ragnhild said, "Manhattan vas a very bad hotel, we had a window against a wall, i ´did´nt like it."

Norman said, "The hotel is well located n Sukhumvit,but other than location offers no draw for me to return. The room was very outdated, the bathroom ancient and poorly maintained. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and climbing the curtains in the bedroom. Breakfast was limted, uninspired, a chore. We ended up ditching our vouchers and having breakfast outside."

James said, "Good value for the money. Very nice room, nice bathroom, and great service. Breakfast buffet also very good. Only negative was that sauna and steamroom were both closed. Would stay here again."

Mr said, "I use this hotel every year as a last night stopover from my trip to Isan before flying back to the UK. Usually I have some issue with the hotel reception eg twin beds rather than double, rooms on separate floors from our travelling companion etc but this year for the first time in years, no issues and we got the double room we need to allow our child to sleep with us!"

The room I rent is quite old but clean. The air-con swift is old and not user friendly. However, service of staffs is good and prompt. It s good for budget traveller."

Bob said, "The room that was proposed to us at first had no view, only on walls of anothet building. It was changed easily for a room on front. Globally, this hotel is too old, we even found bugs in bath room and on the floor of the coffe shop... But at least, staff was very nice, Breakfast was ok. Situation in Bangkok is convenient. Would I return there ? I dont think so..."

Mr said, "Well located, soi not as busy as soi 11. Compared to the Swiss Park hotel at same rate better value for money: breakfast, reception desk. Drawback: some rooms (eg room 405) face a wall at around 1 m ."

Wee said, "Easy to travel location. Friendly and helpful staffs. Room is nice and cozy. Not the best but not the worst either. Will definitely be staying there again. Cons, construction around the area will be noisy during peak hours. Ratings 3 out of 5."

Gregory said, "Hotel is ok, but, contrary to the situation 1 year ago, is no longer guest friendly . In addition, the price for the extra bed is steep : 500 Bahts.For those for which this is important, I advice to avoid this hotel, and, given it s proximity to soi cowboy, I guess this is a large part of their potential customer they are loosing.I will never book this hotel again, this kind of policy change will never be forgotten even for those time when I do no plan to bring a guest . They are other alternatives, bye bye Manhattan hotel!"

Mr said, "I regularly stay at the Manhattan on the night before I return home. The hotel was as good as ever for the price but I am sad to say I had a small and unwelcome guest in my room this year - a cockroach. Would still stay there again though."

Paul said, "Very disappointed with this hotel. The first room, the bellman, nearly broke the door trying to get it open so he changed me to another room. The second room (my room) was damp and dirty. I found trash tucked behind the luggage rack and cracks and holes in the shower. The walls, lampshade and carpet where all stained. Strangely when I went to recharge my camera I found no available mains socket and had to unplug a light. The television offered no cable and most importantly if I had someone over in the evening they charged a joiners fee of 500baht even if they where there for just an hour. I found the front desk service not particularly friendly compared to other hotels I ve deciding to spend the rest of my vacation in Bangkok I changed my hotel immediately.Not recommended."

Celes said, "the public facility is fairly good. the breakfast is OK. The receptionist and the travel agency based in this hotel is very helpful, through which you can easily book a lot of tour programs. however, the equipments in the room is old but still OK for use."

Kim said, "Old hotel, and a bit shiny, but a very good breakfast, even at 9:15 AM.Good Service in the reception, and the bell boy Good servic with a taxi to airport, nearly the normally taxi pric. This time we payd 400 Bath. taxi about 300 bath bye the meter."

ALEX said, "We arrived the hotel at very late of the night and found there is no tooth brush set. We asked for the duty manager for those brush set. He s kind of strange to tell us that won t be available till the next day. How do we brush our teeth without brush and patse for 8 people. They use pesticed for avoiding the mosquito transpass. So, when you get into the room, you could smell the pesticide around the air.Frankly speaking, it is a good hotel for the price and breakfast."

Anthony said, "A great relatively quiet Location. A short walk to both Nana and Soi Cowboy night life. For the asking price the Hotel was OK. Staff friendly. My room was a tad run down-but all of the essentials were clean"

Reidun said, "We are a big family and have the breakfast is wonderful.We also use to eat all our meals at the hotel, and the food is very good. We hope the rooms will be renovated soon, it is a bit shabby. But when we are in Bangkok, it is value for money to stay at Manhattan. Hope to come back soon."

Nice Hospitality.Friendly Staff who are ready to help you with (EXTRA) services. Very Near to SOI Cowboy and quite near to NANA ENT PLAZA. OK ROOMS. Nice and Big Safe . Big enough for my laptop as well as Money, Mobile and jewellary. Serving 2 bottels of water free per day.Negative Points:- I 1 or 2 english channels of US and may be Japan. So feels very Boring during Free Hours."
