David said, "Once we sorted the problem of the extra bed not being in the room everything was fine. 10-15 minutes walk to Asok BTS and the rest of Bangkok but if you like a beer there are quite a few watering holes on the way (Soi 22), not like Patpong or Soi Cowboy. Breakfast and room service both very good. Deluxe room of a very good standard. Families might be better asking for two rooms with adjoining door. Biggest criticism would be the small pool but the hotel will let you use the all the leisure facilities if you have a long wait for flights etc. We had 5 hours and had a swim, shower etc and a last drink before heading to the airport. We would stay here again."
Hendrik said, " my family really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, and housekeeping were very efficient too. The receptionists were really really friendly and helpful, and so were the staff in the restaurant. The breakfast was extensive and very 5-star like. Location was good, and taxi drivers knew where it was. I will definitely stay here again, and will recommend it to others too. A great hotel for business or shopping trips !"
Robert said, "Nice hotel. In a good location all staff very helpful I would stay here again."
Charles said, "Overall, the hotel is good and clean. Staff at reception is friendly and helpful. Good breakfast provided. Location is a good 15 minutes walk from the nearest Pram Pong skytrain station."
Alexander said, "I have to say I am a bit disappointed. Although the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the interior of the room seemed hadn t been renovated for at least 15 years. It looked much worse than the pictures I found on sawadee.com. Breakfast was average. For this price, you would definitely have plenty of other better choices."
KEN said, "we in a good spot for getting around bangkok will stay there again"
Trudi said, "Really nice clean contempory hotel with good facilities. Close to the embassys and also close to some goood shopping centres and only 30 minutes from Suvanbhumi airport. Would definately stay again."
Paul said, "This is the second time I have very comfortable but quite small. The pool area is very small with only a few sunbeds so it gets cramped very quickly. The biggest negative for me was the cost of internet services (535 Baht for one day)and I had lots of access problems - their internet provider is just not reliable so this was frustrating for me. The hotel location is on Soi 22 about 400 meters from Suhkumvit Rd and a 10 min walk from the Skytrain. The breakfast is excellent. I would recommend this hotel but be prepared to use a coffee shop nearby for internet usage."
Poul said, "I have booked Park avenue hotel several times i allwayes stay there when i am in BKK business or holyday because service, room and staff is great and helpfull"
Martina said, "Great Hotel, great service, good location a very good place to stay in Bangkok."
Hendrik said, "The hotel offers a high standard for a reasonable price. Clean room. Very good breakfast. Close to Skytrain.Highly recommended. Come back definitely."
Andrea said, "very very kindly persons ,deluxe room as exactly how expected ( good ) and wow for the special italian restaurant, for the italians: ci si spende il giusto e si mangia da dieci ,da buon toscano che non mangia mai nei ristoranti italiani fuori d italia , devo dire che le cose del vivavino sono buone, sciccosine ma mai pacchiane, piatti fatti bene e di gusto bello tondo..insomma, non ti fa sperare di tornare a casa"
Paul said, "The Grand Mercure Park Avenue worked out well for us. It is an interesting part of town and is close enough to the transit systems to go to the city. Room was good and clean. Some common areas a little tired but good value for the money. Would recommend it"
Catia said, "The Hotel was ok!Last year I decadent.Breakfast very good.Very Friendly staff.I recommend the hotel in deluxe room and the pizza of the Viva Vino Restaurant!"
Zeyad said, "Nice & clean hotel, location is good.. recommended to stay at"
Andrew said, "We also great value: the rooms were fine and breakfast is now in a larger and nicer area on the ground floor. It s very close to the Skytrain at the Emporium shopping centre and there are all manner of nice restaurants in Soi 22 and nearby streets."
Andrew said, "We also great value: the rooms were fine and breakfast is now in a larger and nicer area on the ground floor. It s very close to the Skytrain at the Emporium shopping centre and there are all manner of nice restaurants in Soi 22 and nearby streets."
Johan said, "I got a cleane and nice room. The staff is Friendly. The breakfast buffet is good. Its my favorite hotel in Bangkok. Close to shopping and to transportation. Good value for the money. Check inn was efficient."
F.M. said, "A nice hotel to stay. Friendly and helpfull staff. Good breakfast buffet and a good Italian restaurant. Rooms are well equiped and clean. Not far from a SkyTrain-station and shoppingmall."
Leeann said, "On our visit we efficient hotel. People are very nice and helpful. Located at the centre, a few paces away from the sky train. My husband and I would definately stay at this hotel again."
John said, "Very good some people were extremely nice but others seemed to want to be somewhere else (Reception staff). The cleaning service staff, restaurant staff and door staff were wonderful and could not have been nicer. That s the most important thing in a hotel the people......The rooms were nice and possibly a bit over priced even at sawadee rates so I pity someone walking in off the street paying 7000 odd baht per night. However I will definately stay at the grand mecure again...."
Sirkka-Liisa said, "Reliable as Accor hotels allways.Nice, clean hotel sitated in Sukhumvit area near to everything. Little pool, good for morning swim and nice breakfast. Absolutely worth its price!"
Ben said, "I was very impressed with this hotel, especially for the price. Modern lobby and generally spacious and well designed rooms. Good breakfast and a good position near the SkyTrain. Oh, and the pool is very nice too with chic wooden decking and a nice relaxation area. Very impressed and I can highly recommend the hotel."
Mrs said, "Pleasantly surprised as this turned out to be a lovely Modern hotel.Has a boutique hotel feel.Room was clean though small for the King size bed and extra bed all sqeezed in.We were with 2 small children 2and 4yrs old and the bathroom was small too basically no place to stand unless u shut the door.We took hints from previous posters and requested for a high floor coz as someone warned ,those roosters can really be annoying.Nevertheless we were spolit for choice with the great breakfast...so many choices that it felt more like a brunch. The Hotel has a small pool on the 6th flr.I am still surprised that hotel staff don t speak much English despite the fact that it is frequented by mostly English speaking guests.(actually that is true for most of the hospitality industry in Thailand)is very difficult to ask for food or request for services unless u speak in short English almost like code language. Another thing, if u wanna be close to the shopping etc then this will be far from most places..u can take the skytrain from Phrom Phong station which has a shortcut thru the Queens Park Hotel but for a family it can be a bit of a trek especially in the heat.It was 20THB one way to Siam Malls. So I would recommend The NOVOTEL which is in SIAM district and so close to all the malls. I wish i d checked a map b4 booking. For those who don t mind posh shops and swanky stores the Emporium Mall is just a few minutes away at Phrom Phong Station. Anyway Thailand was too hot for us in this month of April/May and I wud suggest u hit the place only when the heat is bearable."
Alex said, "Hotel was newly refitted and the Mercure rebranding has been a success. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Breackfast was good, plenty on offer and not to busy while we were there. Good location - about a 15 min walk to sky train station but it is a bit away from most attractions. Excellent Italian restaurant ajoining the hotel with good service and good food (a restbite if needed from the heat of Thai cuisine! Overall a good hotel for the price. If you are on business is would recommend this hotel. If on Pleasure then yes it has its charms especially if you want to be just outside the bustle of Bangkok."
Cicely said, "The hotel was ok.The bathroom was very small for the price of this hotel.Breakfast good.Service also good."
Alvin said, "A very stylish, value for money, clean, modern hotel with a very friendly service that was efficient. The only disappointment for me was the swimming pool which was rather small and quite bland to look at compared with the rest of the hotel/facilities."
Donald said, "The hotel was very modern and nicely furnished. The service was excellent. The only negative aspect was the doormen called a cab and loaded our luggage before I learned he wouldn t use his meter, and I had to negotiate a fare to the airport. It cost a few dollars more than a metered cab. Not a big deal, but I did feel I was taken."
Albert said, "Nice Hotel and friendly staff. The room s are small and the pool area has not enough desk chairs. The gym is very new equiped."
Richard said, "this hotel is in course of gradual refurbishment - get one of the higher (renovated floors) and the rooms are of a very good standard - I was on 10th floor and the room was defintiely tired . Everything worked but it had seen better days. Breakfast is international and expensive if not included servcie is generally good. Internet prices at 750 ATHb for 24 hours (don t buy cheaper package). Location is OK - it s a eight - 10 minute walf to Sukhumvit and the sky train. Emporium is 15 minutes walk. I avoided the taxis who park outside the hotel like a plague - one wanted 300 ThB to go to airport plus 60 ThB for express way (no meter) I normally pay around 160 plus 60. if not trying to rip you off they are selling massage parlours. I simply walked across road and hired a taxi passing on the street. Tip - always get your destination written in Thai by hotel staff. Would i go back - maybe - but only if i needed to stay in that location. Wanted to try Regent Park - operated by same group but cheaper also on soi 22."
Alec said, "very nice hotel located on soi 22 between sumkumvit and Rama 4 road. the rate on sawadee was MUCH better then the rate they quoted me in person so be sure to book on sawadee.com! Good internet connection in the room but pricy at 750 baht per day. room was very clean and breakfast was very nice. breakfast is in the viva vino the itailian restaurant (with great wood stove pizza at night). The second floor massage shop across from the queen hotel (less than a block toward sumkumvit and on the same side of the street as Grand Mecure) was profesional and cheap 200 baht for foot massage)...recommended! This hotel is much more convienent to get a taxi from vs the hotels on soi 5 where the taxi vultures wait to overcharge you. here the taxis stream by and are resonable."
mark said, "Outstanding hotel. Of the boutique type, with beautiful touches all around. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever seen. Excellent rooms, great service, good location. Only issue I had was no free internet access."
F.M. said, "A well equiped hotel with good rooms. Staff is friendly and professional. Will return again."
Tony said, "Hotel staff were fantastic. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and fresh, although a bit repetitive after 3 or 4 days. Deluxe Rooms were clean, classy and spacious. Located about 5 min walk from Sukuhmvit Rd. and a further 5 min to sky train station. Don t buy suits from the tailor in the lobby and beware the roosters (yes roosters) situated in adjoining properties - they will keep you awake if you re a light sleeper. All in all, a very good stay."
RICHARD said, "Overall a pleasant experience.Hotel is Thai girl friendly and does not charge an additional fee for overnight guests. Breakfast has something for every taste pallet and has fresh omletts made to order.I became rather irritated checking outwith a trainee who overlooked me twice because she couldnt seem to multi-task or prioritize what she was doing at any given moment(maybe they should screen their applicants). Not enough copies of the local newspaper were available in the lobby as should be expected in a hotel of this class."
Daniel said, "it looks way better on the website than in person. Old, small, stale. The breakfast buffet is nice, though."
Mark said, "This is a brilliant hotel. Exquisite design, really great service, nice rooms, excellent gym, the best breakfast buffet I have encountered in Thailand, and no hassles. Highly recommended."
Andrew said, "Very good. Large rooms with comfortable beds, and everything worked. Friendly and helpful staff. About 5-7 minutes walk from the Skytrain and the Emporium shopping centre. A local restaurant, Khingklao, is recommended for dinner, and there are many others in the area."
Geraint said, "Very clean and comfortable. There was, however, no shampoo or soap in the bathroom so I used my own. The minibar has limited stock. The hotel still feels very new and is still undergoing renovation which makes the pricing a bit high. I think it will be very good in maybe one year."
Robert said, "Great boutique hotel that s in the center of the busy Sukhomvit area. Nice stylized rooms and lobby, excellent buffet breakfast. Staff is a bit stand-offish for Thai standards, but overall very good. This hotel is excellent for the money if booked through Sawadee, otherwise if would be expensive (by Thai standards)."
Jeremy said, "We’d use the hotel again, as a second choice. Wrong Location, small Lobby / sitting area restaurant.A good room, feels new and very clean. Big TV, fridge, coffee/tea, nice bed and good view. Location is okay, 15mins to sky train. We needed a taxi to get around as nothing special outside apart from the usual shops etc. Lobby and restaurant is small although okay. We got great takeaways from restaurant up the road some of the time, 1/3 of the price and twice the size and quality.Rooms and baby cot okay for children, but no high chairs in restaurant. Breakfast finishes about 15 mins before 11am!Room service menu is expensive and not 24 hours, not open at 4pm for example! Also + service charge and tax!Adjoining Italian restaurant looks very posh, very expensive, our food was cold - twice. over 200b for a salad to go with our food (that we didn t like).Staff are fine. The usual expensive hotel taxi man was pushy as usual even if you don t make eye contact!"
Bhavna said, "Nicely renovated hotel, lovely staff.Rooms are smaller than i expected, but newly decorated and clean."
George said, "A visitor to Bangkok for 30+ years, the Park Avenue is the remodelled old and worn out Jade Hotel. They have done an excellent job in upgrading this to first rate facility. The location is much better, in my opinion, than the Nana area, yet very close to the Sky train and buses on Sukhumit. The facilities: large and fully equip gym, internet room, reception, bar, lounge with accomplished piano player, excellent & professional security, buffet breakfast, no-smoking floors/rooms, and attached Italian restaurant were all world class. This hotel was equal to Singapore s business class hotels at half the price.I will use this Hotel again. As a business hotel, I would suggest that they use WiFi for internet in the rooms (i travel with a notebook) and replace the small desk for a larger desk for those of us that work in our rooms!"
Steven said, "10 out of 10, good service nice smiles, excellent position, highly recomended."
Inayath said, "An excellent hotel with all facilities right in the heart of the city. The service was superb with no complaints at all. Comparitively the rates are not high and affordable too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all and would love to be their guest again.I love thailand and its one of the best places to be."
Ms. said, "Newly renovated and vey nice decor. Just dont land up in the superior range of rooms - they are done differently and not very nicely - see the Sawadee site for actual phtos as the Hotel does not show this room as it actually exisits. We had a bit of trouble with our booking and it took 6 hours to resolve which was very frustrating. After the fact however the management was helpful. The breakfast is wonderful and the hotel staff very polite and friendly. Room service menu is not in the rooms but can be requested and the food is really very good, although simple. The pol is small but also very nice. After about 5pm the room service and housekeeping staff s English skills become non-existent. We had to re-order food when the wrong dishes arrived, this happened each time we used this service. Also housekeeping had to come to our room in order to get a visual understanding of what we needed as over the phone they couldnt understand English. The hotel is about a 10-15 min walk from the sky train which then gets you anywhere on its route within 5 to 10 mins. Taxis are readily available and cost 40 to 150 baht for most shopping & tourist areas within central Bangkok. So in that regard it is well situated, just not in the middle of eveything. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel - just make sure you have all the details about your room in place."
Mrs said, "International class hotel at a very affordable price. At the better end of the street, opposite Convention Centre.Regular taxi or tuk-tuk fare to major sights or malls from 70 to 100baht.Very nice open-air pool area on 6th floor. Excellent breakfast buffet.Hotel has just been refurbished and is immaculate.Arranged evening check-out for 50% room charge - very convenient for anyone wanting to unwind for an hour before late long-haul flight. Would definitely stay there again."
Jason said, "Excellent hotel! From what I understand, it s been recently renovated and the interior facilities are very modern and clean. (they were completing work on the outside while we were there, though it caused absolutely no inconvenience). The customer service was excellent (though the bellmen were quite agressive) and there is a wonderful tailor on the ground floor. If you want to stay in the Sukumvit area, I d highly recommend the Park Ave. @ 22 - I d also expect the prices to dramatically increase soon as it s set to become a truly first rate hotel once all construction is done."
Cheryl said, "Very clean, quiet room with beautiful hardwood floor, TV, bar fridge, in-room safe. An amazing hot and cold buffet breakfast on the outdoor patio 6th floor is included. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We to book for our last two nights before flying home. The rate with sawadee.com is significantly lower than going directly through the hotel. It s easy to go anywhere from the hotel as taxis are cheap, and there s always one driving by. It cost us 160 baht to go to the Grand Palace, about 40 minutes through heavy traffic. Our 5 am departure from the hotel to the airport only took 20 minutes on the Expressway so it s not really necessary to book a hotel close to the airport. I d highly recommend this hotel."
