B. stayed at Elegance Suites on 2008-05-17 and said, "Although not the newest, its still quite lovely with really friendly and helpfull stuff. Good location with 5 minutes walk to Skytrain terminal station. Most drivers would not know how to get there, staff will hand out a Taxi-card with mini map."
SHONEY stayed at Elegance Suites on 2008-05-06 and said, "excellent location, excellent rooms, excellent staff, excellent, excellent and excellent. this will be my choice of stay even without trying out any other hotel."
Ralf stayed at Elegance Suites on 2008-02-29 and said, "First of all it tooks around 1 hour to find the hotel. When we arrived the booked rooms are not what we expected because i booked high floor and go just the 3rd. how ever after 4 hour travel i liked to take a shower but i found out there was no towel available. I ask the recepionist to bring me a towel but she answer that towel not available till 5pm ( i arrived at 2pm). So we decide to go on the roof for swimming and to take some food. The food was excelent and the pool to deep to sit in and to flat for swimming. Overall the hotel is overpriced for the quality of the rooms and the service could be much better."
Helga stayed at Elegance Suites on 2008-02-08 and said, "I have been therer already 4 times and for my next visit to Bangkok I will choose this hotel again. It is an excellent location for shopping and sight seeing - the staff is very friendly and helpful in each case."
Lars stayed at Elegance Suites on 2008-01-19 and said, "We make a reservation for a non smoking room and two singel bed. We get smoking room with double bed? Okej the staff was werry helpful so they make two singelbeds no problem. Rest of the hotell was okey. Very gentle staff.Good price but Elegance, No"
Paul stayed at Elegance Suites on 2008-01-03 and said, "GREAT LOCATION near the Sathorn BTS and Sathorn Ferry Pier for the Grand Palace,Wat Arun and Banglamphu and also the main expressway to the downtown and airport!!(20 mins no traffic and 40 mins in peak traffic)Robinsons is just down the road and the classy places of Shangri-La and Oriental and Sirocco Restaraunt within walking distance. Taxis will find this place hard to find but tell them to take left into narrow soi opposite McDonalds on Charoen Krung Rd at 7-11 corner and drive to end of soi!!! Rooms are extremely large and comfortable.Shut windows to reduce outside traffic noise.Bathrooms need some better drainage from shower and showers need updating but rest of room is great!!Rooftop pool, massage area, bar and spa are fantastic!!!!WILL STAY AGAIN.."
Koji stayed at Elegance Suites on 2007-11-16 and said, "Difficult to find out for the first time. However, if you get used to be in that area, it s get used to be in that area, it s not that difficult. Very spacious room. Always clean.Well, if I have another chance to visit Bangkok, I would love to stay."
SUE stayed at Elegance Suites on 2007-11-15 and said, "After reading some of the negative reports on this hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We had a complimentary drinks voucher on arrival. Although the area it s in is a bit downmarket, the location is very good being close to the river for the ferry service and the skytrain although we didn t use the latter. We thought the breakfast was very good with a good choice of english, continental and thai food, loads of fruit and a selection of juices. Eggs cooked to order to your liking. Had no problem with noise from the street or skytrain, although the airconditioning was a bit noisy but I always take earplugs with me anyway. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We booked the hotel again for our last night."
Rolf stayed at Elegance Suites on 2007-06-17 and said, "its a ok hotel but food in resturant can be better, buffet breakfast can olso be better no cheese,no ham and other slicing sousage"
Mark stayed at Elegance Suites on 2007-02-18 and said, "The hotel is quite dated. Had a strange musky/smoky smell but was ok to stay for 2 nights. I would not recommend staying any longer. The reception staff were very pleasent.Down the end of an alley way from Robinsons department store (like MYER in Australia, same prices too). Walk to monorail and to the river. 20baht boat ride to the grand palace. Beware of dodgy ppl selling this trip for 400baht next to shangri la hotel.Clean and adequate but nothing flash. I would not stay here again. It is probably worth paying a few extra $$ for somewhere nice."
Peggy stayed at Elegance Suites on 2007-02-11 and said, "Hotel was a bit difficult to find. After reviewing previous reveiws..I made sure I printed off a map of the hotel and it s address and tel #. The cabby called the hotel for directions and we were there in 15 minutes..no problem! Our stay was pleasant. The rooms were very nice. Roof top pool is a great place to take a break and cool off from the heat & smog of the city.Close to shopping and nightlife. Taxi to Suan Lum Night Bazaar was only $150 baht and only 15 minutes away.Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the breakfast. Slept in and was in a mad rush to catch our next flight back home!Overall..we were pleased with hotel."
Pasticier stayed at Elegance Suites on 2007-02-02 and said, "Perfect : great location, big and clean rooms, nice breakfast, helpfull and kind staff. We went there twice and I have no negative point."
Mirza stayed at Elegance Suites on 2007-02-01 and said, "To begin with let me say that the hotel is located in a very shabby street (for anybody’s standard). Further it is worth noting that Silom is NOT a walking distance for the lighthearted. It was not too bad for me, but I cannot imagine a family with children walking along those congested streets without pedestrian crossings. As noted by other reviewers it is difficult even for taxi drivers to find the place.Rooms are nice, cosy and spacious.Air-conditioning is incredibly loud. My friend had to turn it off since he could not fall a sleep with its constant loud humming. Water pressure is very low. The hotel had THE worst breakfast buffet I have ever seen and tasted (it could not be more scarce). On the bright side, swimming pool is nice and in very nice surroundings.Staff was very helpful and polite. All in all I can say that I know for sure that I will never use it again.Try Royal Benja. It is very spacious, clean, and efficient and has an excellent location (and the restaurant is superb)."
Stanley stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-12-28 and said, "Location is great;10 mins walk to skytrain, supermarket and also close to highways. The hotel lobby is a bit small, the room is nice and toilet is clean. But the Pool on the roof not very clean.Service was gererally fast and good.Staff also very friendly & helpful. We had our safety deposit box not working but after we complaint to them, the technician came immediately to fix it.Breakfast is ok such as.egg, sausage, ham, soup, bread, fried rice/noodles ,fruits, etc.Would recommend this hotel and would stay again next time."
M stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-11-03 and said, "Hotel looks dated from the outside and the close surroundings are a bit shabby but that is not an issue for us . However the inside of the hotel is nice, the room was very nice and Very large. Large fridge. AC worked well but was a bit noisy. We stayed on third floor. Some noice from the street but not bothering. TV had poor reception but I am sure they would have fixed that if I had complained. Service was gererally fast and good.Location is pefect by the river, and Skytrain. Staff very nice, Pool on rooftop nice. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.Would definitely stay here again."
lesliejseymour stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-10-30 and said, "A great place to stay very helpfull staff and nice rooms ,in a quite part of BBK very close to sky train will stay again"
Robert stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-10-27 and said, "Nice large rooms, friendly staff, pool on the roof offers a nice relaxing get away from the bustling streets below. The hotel is set back a bit from the main roads (the taxi driver had problems finding it)but the BTS is in walking distance and patpong night market is only 100 baht to get to on the tuk tuk. Overall a good hotel for the budget traveller."
David stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-09-13 and said, "Mid-range hotel, reasonable value for money. Back street location could discourage some but not too far (10 minutes walk) from end of the line -Saphan Taksin - BTS station. Junior suite has bedroom with small lounge (TV room) and kitchenette - higher floors have a better outlook. Breakfast buffet fairly average but adequate. Rated as OK ."
Azahar stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-09-05 and said, "If you are a first timer to Bangkok, you may want to consider this hotel. Its located near the sky train terminal and you can easily find food everywhere with robinsons to be your guide if you find you are lost. However, you also need to know that the way to reach there may be a bit sleezy. For the room, it was big, the staff were friendly, the inhouse facilities ok. Breakfast, if you are thinking of having a quiet meal, think again, they are some customers who were talking so loud you can hear them as if they are on the streets below."
Jerry stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-08-30 and said, "Very nice hotel, large, clean rooms and very easy access to Sky train. The hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful in every way. The hotels restaurant leaves much to be desired but the one thing they know how to do is a perfect Tom Kha Gai soup!Highly recommended! When we come back to Bangkok we will definitely stay here again!"
Stephan stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-07-25 and said, "Very good place to stay. Nice and big rooms, nice atmosphere and good service. Come here as a returning customer and surely do again."
John stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-07-08 and said, "A really nice hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, so much so that we spent another night on our way back at the end of July. A little difficult to find but other than that we liked the fact all the rooms are suites and the proximity to the river and the Skytrain is also very convenient. Found a very nice little restaurant just down the road which did very good and cheap food.Staff very helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was adequate but could have been hotter."
John stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-06-17 and said, "Only stayed one night and counted myself lucky. On the plus side the staff are friendly but that’s about the only good point. Unfortunately, the rooms are not clean and the whole hotel needs refurbishing. I was worried about noise from the Skytrain but the aircon was so noisy that it drowned everything else out! The bathroom was falling apart and the bathroom aircon/fan vent didn’t work - except to deliver mozzies. The state of dilapidation also applies to the rooftop sauna, jacuisie and pool - they all worked but were dirty or falling apart. The restaurant was also terrible and a breakfast of cold eggs and meat is not the way to start the day. Oh, and it’s also true that no taxi driver can find it. Best avoided."
Guillermo stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-06-16 and said, "Bangkok is a great city.Regarding The Elegace Suites I spected a Best Western standard. May be they lower down that standard.People working at the hotel are very very nice but they need more trainning and more resources. The hotel is getting very tired , laundy is not good, nor is breakfast, TV offers only a few local stations in Thai and some others like AXN (no CNN, BBC, CBS, TV5, Bloomberg, DW, etc.), etc.I could almost call it Worst Eastern."
Vivienne stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-06-10 and said, "This hotel represents excellent value for money. We booked a junior suite but were upgraded, at no extra charge, to the executive floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful and happy to write our destinations in Thai for the taxi/tuk tuk drivers. Our suite was spotlessly clean with a very useful fridge for storing beers. Tea and coffee supplies are replaced daily as are the two complimentary bottles of drinking water. The hotel is also very well located as it is only a five/ten minute walk to ATM machines, Topps Supermarket (under the Robinson shopping centre) the Skytrain and river. We asked the taxi drivers to take us to the Shangri-La hotel, which they all knew, and then asked them to drop us outside the Robinson centre as we approached. The hotel is then only a few minutes walk across the other side of the road, down a side street. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again"
M.Tideman stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-05-25 and said, "We booked an executive room with was nice, but very hard matress. the airco and the refrigerator made too much noise. All 3 nights could not sleep without sleeping pil also because of noise outside. The location of the hotel is to far away from the action and hard to find for taxi-driver.We will not stay here a second time."
Mr stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-04-09 and said, "Hotel is conviently located but neatly tucked away on a side street.Look out for the Robinson Centre on the main road.Best jot down the phone no.and get the taxi driver to ring ahead first.Short walk to pier one on river and sky train terminal.Turn right out of hotel and right again, 2 minute walk to both these transport modes.Lovely Chinese restaurant near Hotel aswell.Staff friendly, helpful.Room spacious, clean.Nice and quiet too if you need to get a good rest. Will rebook when in Bangkok again."
Robert stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-03-03 and said, "Great location for getting on skytrain and river taxi. We booked a junior suite and were very satisfied, a nice bargain. The staff were excellent and helpful. Stayed here twice during our trip."
Ronnie stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-02-10 and said, "It was generally satisfactory although the price is a little bit on the high side. The taxi did not know where it is and we took a bit of time to find it. Actually it is just directly opposite of the lane from the Robinson Store Bangrat Branch. It is not on Silom road at all."
Harri stayed at Elegance Suites on 2006-01-20 and said, "Been in this cosy hotel several times between 2004-2006. Everytime our stay has been really enjoyable. Excellent price-quality! Try the real finnish sauna at the rooftop by the pool! Rooms are huge and clean, servicestaff will do all to fill your needs!"
Alvin stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-12-30 and said, "Value for money :). Must admit that I was a little shocked when I first arrived at the hotel as it sure looks much better on the pictures :(. BUT the service was very warm and friendly :). Room was reasonable, especially for the price you pay :)! Breakfast needs a little tuning up though :(. Getting taxis to reach the hotel can be quite tough if you do not know the area well. Easiest is to tell them to head to Shangri-La Hotel in Silom and then direct them to turn left into the lane just after 7-Eleven."
Marie-Laurence stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-12-28 and said, "Great clean and spacious suite at a low price. Ok breakfast. The location is really convenient, near the skytrain and the central pier. Very nice staff. Would go back."
Heather stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-12-15 and said, "Upon our arrival at 1:30 in the morning we found that the staff had not made up the additional bed that we had requested in the suite. We had to wait for them to get the extra bed in the room and make it up for my daughter to go to sleep. The suite was fine, floors a bit sticky and dirt in the corners but for the price we paid i could deal with that. We had requested a early wake up call for the following morning since there was not an alarm clock in the room. The following evening after being out all day seeing the sites we came back to find that the room had NOT been made up but that someone had delivered an alarm clock. Later we realized that my husbands iPod (which we left on the table) was no longer there and surmized it had been taken by whomever delivered the alarm clock. All of our other valuables were locked in the room safe! Thankfully or it could have been a terrible start for our vacation!! I don t think i will ever stay at this hotel again given this experience. The staff was fine, the restaurant fine, location was very good but cleanliness left something to be desired. Use the room safe and don t leave anything out in the open of any value!!"
Ryan stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-12-13 and said, "Had a three night stay and wish we had stayed at this hotel right from the beginning. Excellent location which is very hard to beat, couple of minutes walk to either the express boat for grand temple etc or the skytrain for all the other tourist sites, nightlife and shopping. I have stayed in Bangkok loads of times as a travel agent and think that this hotel is one of the very best in terms of value for money, great staff and excellent location. Highly recommended."
Chak stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-12-11 and said, "Very happy of this hotel. The lobby and room s furnitures and interiors are nice. however we did not notice the undone shower area on our 1st night. we told the staff on next day morning, they immediate upgraded us to a bigger suite. Hotel staffs and travel agent are friendly and efficient. Sure we will stay there for our next Bangkok trip."
Wan stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-12-10 and said, "BTS and Cenral pier is easily acessible, about 5 mins walk. The room is spacious and service is prompt. Front desk is extremely helpful and polite. Would be wonderful if they could provide some more plates, fork and spoon for the pantry especially if u are travelling with children. Breakfast is ok. Airport by meter taxi is about 300 to 350 baht. Would recommend if u r travelling on tight budget."
Erna stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-11-20 and said, "Book the junior suite , is big and clean with separate lounge and bed. Breakfast has choices of american, asian and continental. The breakfast staff is bit offstandish and not very helpful. However, receptionish staff are very helpful and friendly. Location is very close to sathorn bts station and central pier station. There is a good and cheap thai restaurant 50 mtr down , robinson plaza for atm and cheap food court type of food.We took a taxi from hualampong station for around 50 baht and 260 baht to airport ( including tollways fee)"
Scott stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-10-21 and said, "Quite happy with this hotel for this price. I was a bit apprehensive that the hotel room would not be up to standard but I was quite pleased because the room is clean and the shower is also ok. Service is always with a smile. value for money."
Tan stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-10-16 and said, "Cleaniness of the hotel is ok and the hotel is quiet spacious. However, no soap and tooth paste was provided."
Jens-Uwe stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-09-02 and said, "Very friendly staff. Suites are spacious and clean. Hotel is only a 5 minute walk away from Robinson Store and Skytrain. We get a very nice hotel for the price we paid."
Andy stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-08-05 and said, "We Booked very last minute and was not sure what to expect, especially as we had a 6yr old with us.The hotel room initially smelt a little foisty but that quickly went, after that it was a great place to stay. Staff very friendly on reception and helpful. As a base it is perfect, 200 yards from the skyreain and main pier for the water ferrys up and down the river. Ace thai restaraunt 50 yards from the main door, turn left towards macdonalds!!! and it is there 50 to 60 Baht and clean kitchen as well, Im a chef and I tend to look in them. Pool ok and but shallow and jacuzzi thing works but nothing special. Rooms are large with fridge and tv.great base for exploring Bangkok as so close to skyrain, underground just 3 stops away 20baht cost. Temples 20 mins by ferry 14baht each. Recommend"
Paul stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-08-01 and said, "This hotel was a little difficult to find on the first night but after arriving it was fine. Good, big clean suites for 1500 baht was good value. Close to the river so great for Bangkok sightseeing, palace etc. Only problem no mini bar but 7/11 just around the corner. They could not rebook the hotel as we wanted to stay for an extra 2 nights so we moved to the Tower Inn which was even better value, cleaner and better serviced."
Remo stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-03-29 and said, "We had the Junior Suite. Comfortable, clean, modern, large Rooms. Very good pricing through Sawadee.com. Fantastic roof terrace with a garden-like setting and a pool. Staff is extraordinary helpful, friendly and seems to be in a good mood all the time."
Sharynn stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-03-25 and said, "Good location. Very near to Skytrain Stations. Room was big and relatively clean, although slightly worn-out and tired looking. Unfortunately, our room also had a slightly unpleasant smell. Staff was friendly and service was prompt. Overall, an ok hotel, if you just need a place to shower and sleep."
Roger stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-03-14 and said, "Great hotel, my family enjoy it very much. Very good service and the location was very central, near Robinson store and near to the river.Great place that we very much recommend to our friends."
Mark stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-02-10 and said, "the only comment i can make on the hotel is that the staff were very helpful and the lobby was very nice, this is because sawasdee failed us in that when we arrived at the hotel for our last two days in thailand we were told that our booking had been cancelled, when we called sawasdee to ask what had happened we were told we had been cancelled because we had not made our final payment, this is fair enough you might think, but sawasdee had told us that they had sent us numerous emails to request final payment from us,but as we had been checking our emails about every two days we asked them to check with us our email address,it would appear they had the correct email,we could not understand how this could have happened.but sawasdee were adamant that it was our fault,as the elegance suite was fully booked we could not get accomodation their, but thanks to the friendly helpful staff there we managed to secure accomodation. this put a dampener on our last two days in thailand thanks to sawasdee and we will not book with them in the future. to add when we got home we had two emails from sawasdee that they managed to get through to us perfectly well, i wonder what happened to the other emails that they said they had sent to us , I wonder!!!"
Jayne stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-02-10 and said, "We stayed here in Feb 05 and really liked it. Suites are nice and spacious, staff very friendly, breakfast is a good buffet, pity the roof top bar wasn t open but we just called down to the restaurant and they brought up whatever we wanted. Pool a bit shallow but great to have somewhere to cool off at the end of the day. Good location near Sky train but taxi drivers struggled to find it! The girls who run the Thai massage place across the road are lovely; massage hurts a bit but really worth a visit!! Would definitely recommend."
Tan stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-02-08 and said, "I rather like this hotel. To find the hotel, tell the taxi driver to turn into the soi directly opposite the Robinson Departmental Store next to the Saphan Thaksin BTS station. The hotel s on the right at the end of the soi. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and we found the suite very comfortable. What we liked was the availability of hot drink making facilities in the suite. The suite is clean, small and compact. Our only complain is that the air-con (which was working fine) was rather noisy. The breakfast is a small spread but adequate. At the end of our stay there we asked the hotel to get us a taxi to take us to the airport at 5.30am. The hotel did just that and at no extra taxi cost. They also packed us sandwich, boiled egg and drinking water for us to take away as we would not be able to use our breakfast coupon that day. That was a very thoughtful touch.Lining the soi on both sides leading to the hotel are lots of hair dressing saloons, massage shops and laundrette. Its a perfectly safe soi to walk down. On the main road outside the Robinson is lots of foodstalls. Walk towards the entrance towards Shangrila Hotel and you will encounter more food stalls. The fishball noodle stall there is particularly delicious. The loong-ngan drink was fantastic. So, location wise, this hotel is splendid. From the Saphan Thaksin BTS station, you can get to lots of places along the BTS route. Or you can take the chao phraya ferry at the Saphan Thaksin ferry pier to all the other places such as the Grand Palace which is not along the BTS route. For a good introduction to places along the Chao Phraya, its a good idea to take a one day river pass on board the Chao Phraya Toursist Boat which only costs 75 baht. you will be supplied with a comprehensive guide book, a guide who will give a running commentary of places you can/should visit along the river and a bottle of drinking water. You can get off and on the boat the whole day so its a good idea to start early."
Alberto stayed at Elegance Suites on 2005-01-29 and said, "Never been before in Botique Hotel so this time I choose this type of Hotel. Actually this hotel is not so difficult to find as some comments before but is a little bit dirt the head of the road specially at night when the sellers finish their business they need to wash the street. so always is wet, beside that at day time is not so bad. Well is time to say about the hotel: Hotel is very lovely in the lobby but is not so good to place the computer desk in that place because when you want to use it, everybody pass will see you what you are sending or receiving. Better place it in another area. Reception staff is very need to training again because they don t have inter-comunication, because 1st night, I don t know drop the key to keep in the front desk, unbelivable when I back at night they don t know where is my key. The girl look more than 20 minutes, and she always ask me did I put or drop there, I so sure because when I go out I told here that I put the key and I ask her when she is off her duty. Well after several time of find, the key is with another co-worker. Well the feeling at the same time is confusing. How can be like that! Is time about the room, well actually I expect better for the price - $2,150.00 baths per night, I think is better than good. Well is so and so. The worst part is the bath tap is quite old they must change the type of bath tap the water can t go all. Every night the water still have some for next morning and also is crack is must change for another materail.Bath curtain is not exchange time by time must clean everyday. When 1st day was so dirty, you can t imaging. The air condition is control inside the bed-room to the whole suite so when you back, the 1st thing you need to must do is go to bed-room to turn-on the air-con, the last night I can sleep well because the water leak in the wall and drop on the side-bed. How can I sleep with tick-tick-tick. Oh my!Overall the other part of the room is good.Well is time about the breakfast. the breakfast time is 6:30 to 9:30 for me is period is to short at least is must until 10:00 in others hotel I have been is like that. Please don t the japonese soup (miso soup) is so salty. The fruit is not so fresh, the replacement service is bad take quite long time to replace the food. So I only take one morning. (I stay there for 5 days & 4 night)One thing I must need to say is the staff in front desk (speacial the girl) is very pleasant and speak fluent english, is very kindly and very helpfull. I ll recoment my friend to go other to try - The Elegance Suite"
