John stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-07-08 and said, "Good Price, nice room, nice view (25 story building), rooms (even have bathtub and shower), nice friendly helpful people in all departments, good selection of English TV channels -there also were Korean, Japanese and German, Fantastic Breakfast bufffet (had to have been 100 selections). The Thai oil Massage for 300 Baht was real value for money. The one bad thing it s a long way from the airport and or skytrain station, 7 o clock in the afternoon it took 45 minutes, to get from the airport and even at 3 a.m. still took 25 minutes to get back to the airport. It also is a full 20 minutes to the closest Skytrain Station."
Arja stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-06-24 and said, "We just needed a affordable room for one night close the the airport and found this hotel from website. The room was clean and quiet, ok for one night stay and the location was good as the hotel is situated directly on the motorway so it took as less than 30 min to get to the airport."
Alan stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-05-02 and said, "This hotel was good, the room was really nice and clean, food is excellent.Would stay again."
Mark stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-04-27 and said, "Nice hotel, rooms are clean and hotel has many facilities. Close to the airport so great if you re on a late flight or need a night to recover before heading elsewhere. Will stay here again."
Martin stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-04-20 and said, "Great hotel, i must have stayed here 10 times already. Brand new TV´s in the rooms, balcony, free fitness and swimming pool, dining at the pool, hiot sauna (80 Baht), great hotel and definetly recomment it. Not far from the Suvarnabhumi airport."
Martin stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-04-19 and said, "I always go back to the Avana Bangkok Hotel. No need to head into Bangkok when you arrive in Thailand since its not far from the airport. Its really a great hotel with pool, fitness, sauna and a large breakfast buffet. I absolutely recommend the AVANA and Res24asia.com for the fast and simple booking that they offer."
Grund stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-03-26 and said, "excellent hotel for a stop-over in bkk"
Miguel stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-03-12 and said, "I have been staying at the Avana since it was known as the Highway Inn and the price per night was 500 baht. While the relocation of the airport can partly explain its price hike, their renovations over the years have only affected common areas (pool, lobby, etc.); a lot more needs to be done inside the guest rooms before they can claim to have truly upgraded the place (not to mention increasing the number of elevators - waits are often annoyingly long). I really only stay here due to proximity to airport and relatives living in Bang Na. There are similarly priced hotels in Silom and other conveniently located parts of the city that I would certainly recommend over the Avana. That said, this is a decent hotel, with a nice pool area, very friendly and helpful staff and conveniently located near the airport."
Kevin stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-02-29 and said, "Have stayed at the Avana 4 times in three years .Excellent location for me in Bang Na Taxi to Big C /Tesco etc 100 baht Pool is pleasant Food is excellent Karoake Rooms are brilliant Hotel Room large and have balcony ..scenic views Staff friendly and helpful"
Micael stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-02-25 and said, "Real good service and nice price hotel."
daniel stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-02-20 and said, "Mysigt hotell som tyvärr ligger ganska långt från det riktiga centrum i Bangkok.Annars nära flygplatsen och bra service."
Deborah stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-02-07 and said, "A good hotel at a great price. Nice, large rooms, excellent service, and extensive buffet breakfast (included). As an airport hotel, though, it s a little far from the airport (30 minutes)... but for the price it s worth the drive."
Micael stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-02-06 and said, "This is a hotel that I recommend to anyone.Extreamly good service, nice food and really friendly staff.Keep ur the good work."
Susanne stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2008-01-09 and said, "Nice rooms and wery helpful staff,we only stay one night before we went home."
Annette stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-11-16 and said, "Just three little words, NO, DONT, BAD EXPERIENCEwell that was four little words. Hotel is not easy to get to, a mosquito haven, lots of stray cats, service is really bad, staff very unhelful, no towels, staff agreed to a rate one day and upped price next day. A bad experience all round."
OlTr stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-11-12 and said, "Decent and clean, nothing extra, no disappointments. Reasonably cheap. 30 minutes from the airport."
David stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-08-30 and said, "quite basic but ok for an overnight stop it is 30 minutes by taxi from the airport cost 600 bhat quite a long way from the centre of town if you are plannig to use it as a base for the city. Rooms are reasonably large and breakfasts ok"
Leonhard stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-08-24 and said, "The Avana Hotel has everything we need, what Avana Hotel not have, nobody need it.Thanks fore friendly welcome and the best service I see fore that price kategorie. When I leave we forget my importend notebook and camera in an backpack in there coffeshop, many thanks fore delivering to me before I could leave Thailand."
Olivia stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-08-15 and said, "The hotel was fine but a little worn down. It was listed as being close to the international airport but it was around 30 minutes away so not quite as close as we would have liked."
Rob stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-08-06 and said, "We had a room on the 17th floor which had a great panoramic view over Bangkok. Airco a bit noisy. Rooms are clean. The balcony is not safe for children and drunk people, it has a quite a low fence. Location not far from the new airport, for shopping you need to take a taxi, no shops in in walking distance. It s a suitable location for one of the last days of your holiday."
Knud stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-07-16 and said, "very cheap hotel, we used it for our first day in Bangkok, and it is cheap and resonable service"
Louise stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-07-01 and said, "Exactly what we expected. 1/2 hour drive from the airport, basic breakfast, clean. recommended if arriving late in bangkok and intend to fly out next morning."
Anne-Marie stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-06-25 and said, "Nice big room. Not that close to the airport but I knew that. Much cheaper than the hotel right near the airport."
Chaowana stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-06-20 and said, "Nice, clean, comfortable and very reasonabel pirce for all their service. From the new airport, take about 20 min but can be up to 30 min, if traffic jam. Very good if you like to take a break after or before long fly. Very close to big shoping center, that have so many good reataurants and wonderful spa! I will come back to Avana for sure, when I visit Bangkok next time!"
frank stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-06-04 and said, "We booked the standard room for 1.100 baht which was fine for the price. Nothing special and the hotel is really far from everything but really acceptable for what we paid for. We checked out early therefore cannot comment on the breakfast. The restaurant was nice and cheap, very friendly people that spoke English well. Not so the front desk - some of the people did not understand at all what we wanted from them. It took us 1 hour from the old airport to the hotel but the fare was reasonable - 450 baht fixed price from the airport. The new airport was only 20 min. at 05:00 in the morning with the hotel shuttle (150 baht/person). Taxi could have been cheaper but maybe less reliable. Nothing much to do in the area, the hotel is way off; but food in the hotel was good and we needed to stay only for a night to go back home the next morning. Minimart and Coffee shop on site was a plus, there is a pool as well, even massage for a good price. All in all we were satisfied for the money we spend."
Sangalli stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-28 and said, "The hotel is just 30min drive from the airport and is good enough to spend a night while waiting the next fly to some local destination. Staff is friendly and speack quite good english. I ll stay here again if needed."
Myles stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-26 and said, "decent place for the price. one small problem -- booked a twin room but got a double. i had a copy of my paper saying i had reserved a twin so they moved an extra bed into the room for no extra charge. no restaurants near the hotel, but hotel restaurant was pretty good and decent breakfast too."
Ronald stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-21 and said, "Much too far from the airport. You need the same time and money from hotels on Sukumvith to go to the airport. And they have too many insects in the room. So if you are interested in entomology thats your place. Never again."
Barbara stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-16 and said, "As with many hotels in Thailand, the lobby area is very impressive, but the guest rooms lack physical appeal. This hotel is in definite need of a make over. I only stayed one night for my return flight the next morning to the United States. It had all the amenities for a great last night in Bangkok. Laundry facilities would have been nice, so that I could take home clean clothes. The hotel has a beauty salon and even a mini mart. The bathroom in my room didn t look too bad, until I went to take a shower. There was so much mildew on the tile, I chose to take a sink bath instead. The hallways are very dark, which did not give a secure feeling. It is about a 30 minute drive from the new Bangkok airport. I chose to hire a taxi driver for 300 THB, very reasonable. Although the hotel is not close to anything, the Front Desk personnel are more than happy to arrange taxi service for you at a reasonable fare. Other hotels in the area are very expensive. For just one night this was a good value."
Elena stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-13 and said, "The hotel is not that close to the airport, around 20-30 mins by car (with NO traffic). Rooms ok for the price, aircon a bit noisy, breakfast ok. Had a problem with the pick up service that I booked in advance - the driver didn t show up at the airport and made me wait for almost 20 minutes. After looking for him around the airport I eventually called the hotel and he came. Then he got lost on the way and at one point we were even going with reverse gear on the highway. That meant another delay of 15-20 minutes... It was past midnight, so I obviously got quite upset with all that."
Alexander stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-05 and said, "We stayed in this hotel for one night for travelling next morning to the airport. The hotel is for one night ok. Nothing arround the hotel. Good pool and restaurant. Rooms are a little bit tatty, aircondition is not so good. The hotel offers a shuttle bus at 5.00 am, 7.00 am and 9.00 am to the airport for 150 baht/person. Other times will cost 600 Baht/car, so than it is better to take a taximeter. Transfertime 30 Minutes"
Erin stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-03 and said, "Nice hotel, comfortable bed. Shuttle bus available to the airport as early as 5am only costs 150 Baht. Had a swimming pool and massage parlor but we did not have time to visit them. 60 Baht took us to the closest Skytrain station so it is out of the way but easy to get into the city as well."
Rose stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-04-01 and said, "The Avana is a good choice near the new airport in Bangkok. The staff are very helpful and friendly and as I was leaving too early in a.m. for breakfast, they packed me a sandwich. Also a lovely pool where you can enjoy a light meal. I would definitely recommend."
Michael stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-03-27 and said, "Ok for the price!"
Heidi stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-03-18 and said, "Yes- the hotel rooms are a bit shabby, but its a deal when you consider some of the guesthouses in town. The pool is really lovely, there s a fitness room (air-con) with tread mills if you like to run. The restaurant is decent (plus big free breakfast buffet) and you can even get massages. Unfortunately my massage experience wasn t great- the masseueses chatted non stop and I had to ask 3-4 times to get what I wanted, but I m a massage snob. For a stopover hotel relatively close to the airport- definately recommended. I m sure its cheaper than hotels in town, but not sure how cenral it would be if you are vacationing in Bangkok???"
Ditte stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-03-14 and said, "We spent there one night at arrival and one night when we were leaving because it is close to the airport. Big clean room and bathroom. Nice swimming pool and good pool restaurant. You can order a taxi by meter that is cheaper then the shuttle bus."
Marin stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-03-10 and said, "Big hotel with a nice swimming pool and a good restaurant. Rooms are clean. There is a shuttle for the airport for 150 baths per person. It is not far from the airport and near a shopping center."
Craig stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-02-28 and said, "Overall we were very disappointed with the service that we received. Our room was not set up with the Cot as we had requested upon arrival, and took a very long time to be delivered to our room. Also, our booking was supposed to include breakfasts, but upon arrival, they said that it did not and made us pay a lot extra for this. Unfortunately I did not have a print out of the email with we at the time to prove this. I have subsequently looked it up my email correspondance, and the booking clearly was supposed to include breakfasts."
Fausto stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-02-23 and said, "Good and confortable, enought close to Suvarnabhumi airport (15 km), the breakfast buffet is good and various, the workers gentle. No good is the tourist agency counter in the hall of the hotel that wants to sell you expensive transfers to airport and everywhere: it s better to take a normal taxi."
Ralf stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-02-18 and said, "Avana Hotel seems not to be as near to the new Airport as we thought - even on a sunday afternoon without traffic we took 30 min. to get there. Hotel in the middle of nowhere.... We booked Avana only for stop-over to get to the airport very early the next morning, but in fact we would accept even a longer taxi-drive just to have more nightlife and restaurants nearby. Hotel and facilities quite tired, but clean. Nice pool and pool restaurant."
Geraldine stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-02-15 and said, "Hotel further from airport than anticipated - 30 minutes. Did not think standard of room was great - cockroaches in bathroom (on 8th floor) and very tired looking decor in bathroom - did not feel I could use shower/bath.Also airconditioning not working so all in all not very comfortable stay, even though it was only for a few hours - wouldn t stay there again, or recommend it to any friends."
Roussel stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-02-12 and said, "We spent only one night in Avana hotel between 2 flights. The hotel is not too far from the Airport (30 km) and there is no traffic jam. Cost of taxi meter was 300 baht (one way). The room and the facilities are good but the the restaurant is so so."
Dianne stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-29 and said, "it s 30min from the new airport in non-peak times; room was great, front counter unfriendly; cheap but then they demanded a room key deposit of some hundreds of baht which was never returned! shuttle to airport is handy."
Michel stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-24 and said, "about 35 minutes from the airport, great staff, great food but the hotel need new furniture and new pillows !"
Sarah stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-24 and said, "friendly staff at hotel, restuarant horrible food hut friendly staff and full of mosquitos, baths form the 50 s and noisy rooms. This hotel has seen better days."
Anna stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-23 and said, "I thought it would be closer to the airport - which was why I chose it. The price was not great value for the sort of hotel and its location. Staff pleasant and helpful and arranged taxi to airport for 5am."
Anindo stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-21 and said, "The hotel rooms are nice and clean and service is good. This is great hotel for using in transit. It is about 40 minutes from Sawarnabhumi airport."
Khambay stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-17 and said, "Overall, it was decent value with average room and good breakfast."
Shirley stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-16 and said, "We stayed only one night but found this to be a great place to stay. It was vey comfortable and convenient for the airport without being expensive. We had an early flight and were provided with a snack when we checked out which was excellent. There was also a small shop in the foyer. I would stay here again"
Dagfinn stayed at Avana Hotel & Residence on 2007-01-10 and said, "Hotel was good value for money, nice clean rooms , lots of small things for free in room, but we suffered from cold water in the shower, we stayed three days but only one day had good and warm water. We tried to complain but we only had the answer to wait for hot water to come.If you were late for breakfast the food was cold, freid eggs were cold, they were out of different kinds of vegetables and they did not know what kind of juices there were in the mugs , but hotel good value for money , near airport and not too far from sku train to the city"
