E stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-06-29 and said, "However the hotel was under renovation, we did not feel this was an inconvenience. The hotel room was bit old but it did the job. All the staff were very friendly and I can certainly recommend to have a treatment at the Spa in the hotel. There are various places to eat within the hotel although I would recommend to explore cheaper local Thai food places. There was plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Also it was very closely situated to the Sky rail and it had a decent nightclub in the basement. The only down side we thought was that it was situated in the more seedy part of sukhumvit but all by all a pretty good experience!!!"
Isaac stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-06-25 and said, "Brilliant Hotel, Room excellent and the food was first class. This is the second time i have stayed there this year and will most certainly stay again."
Mary stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-06-20 and said, "Oh my god. The rooms were definately not like what they are advertised on this website. The picture of the hotel is also not the part of the hotel we stayed in. Rooms were obviously in old part of hotel and roof missing off bathroom, bedclothes were all stained and dirty undersheet. we had dinner in the restaurant, pizza was obviously bought in shop, there was nobody in the restaurant when we got there, we soon discovered why. There are plenty of hotels in Bangkok to choose from, dont stay here."
Dave stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-06-04 and said, "Newly refurbished rooms are a great improvement. Staff still helpful, although very busy."
Paul stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-05-06 and said, "ive stayed at the ambasador lots of times over the last ten years, but it is slipping in both cleanliness and clientelle. there were bugs in the room and i was bitten most nights even after the maid sprayed. At breakfast you had to nail your plate down ,if you got up for a cup of tea refill an ignorant family of curtain draped women and children with eye slits in their headgear would steal your table and move your half eaten steeming plate.I saw it happen to at least 2 tables every day..And noisey !! im sure they are all deaf (maybe its the shelling??)they talk at 100dB.sorry squalk!!I doubt very much that i will stay there again."
Prayad stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-05-05 and said, "Nothing to sing home about. Adequate for a short stay before going to the airport. Shame they errected a tower block in front of it. Just another off street hotel. Getting expensive without a increase in quality of service."
Gerry stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-05-02 and said, "Stayed 2 nights here. Beautiful newly renovated room in the tower block. Rest of hotel pretty old but undergoing refurb. Staff polite but not very friendly. Breakfast was poor - just so busy - people everywhere. Always running out of things, food was cold as was tea and coffee, noisy environment. Hard to find a table."
Gene stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-04-26 and said, "I have stayed in The Ambassador several times in the past including April 2007. This visit, we arrived at 4:30 pm and was told by the desk staff that our room wasn t ready. This year, it seems the clientele has changed dramatically over 2007 and now appears to be predominantly west asian. The staff seems disinterested bordering on rude. Our Tower Wing room was clean and newly remodeled but strongly stank of durian. The location is great, which is why I have enjoyed staying here in the past but the room rates have increased dramatically while the service and clientele deteriorated.I will not be staying here in the future as there are many better choices in the immediate area"
Paul stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-04-17 and said, "a bit of a mess at the moment, but they are making the best of extensive refurb, we had to ask for a room change because ours stank of stale cigars, it is long overdue but hopefully it will be better after the refurb, staff as usual are good at their hard job."
Bruno stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-04-11 and said, "Hotel Ambassador is a very good hotel many danish people stay there. The Danish booking agent actually have an office in the lobby.I have stayed at Ambassador ones before and can recomment the hotel.I am however very dissapointed about my room being on top of a night club which gave two night of bad sleep but I accepted to stay in that room anyway. Anything else was at good as it can get."
Sam stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-04-10 and said, "Was hoping for a real nice break in a great hotel. Dont think the money is invested best at the Ambassador. Breakfast was very good and the location also. The room very small, hard pillows, old TV with hardly any English channels etc... staffs ok, but every time I cam home at night they tried to charge me 1000 Bat for bringing my wife to the room with me. Hated that- not every Asian Girl is a prostitue and not every white Guy in BKK looking for one!!!"
Thomas stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-04-01 and said, "The db-room in our section (apartment suites) was very OLD and needed a major renovation, but it was clean and the staff was kind, but i still think the price (3550 bt each night) is way too much."
Dr stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-03-29 and said, "Big hotel that has obviously seen better days. The decor and room amentities are very 1970s. However it is priced well and well located if you like staying in Sukhumvit. you seem to bump into the very crowd that you tried to avoid back home! No fault of the hotel though! Breakfast is very good and lavish . The staff are friendly and understand english. Good value for money hotel overall"
Tove stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-03-27 and said, "The hotel was great. The past part was that there was short distance to the Skytain. The breakfastbuffet was very various and good. The poolfacility and sportsfacility was great."
Kjell stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-03-15 and said, "Sorry Ambassador, but this is not good enough.Even though the improvements of the rooms have made them much lighter than before, it does not help when the rooms do not work. The bathroom for instance is a mess after you have taken a shower as there are no shower curtains. You are stuck with a wet floor for the rest of your stay especially as the drain in the other end of the room is not working. We had a privilege room in the Tower Wing, but I must say it was no privilege staying there. For the price we payed I know of several hotels in the area which are much better. On top of it all, at check out, they wanted us to pay for a pair of slippers , which in the first place never were in the room. So my advice is to take inventory when moving in, or best of all, stay away from Ambassador !"
Niphattra stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-03-11 and said, "the hotel is nice and good service. I will back to this hotel next time."
Mr stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-03-07 and said, "This hotel, albeit in a good location for entertainment zones and easy access to the new airport is in serious need of refurbishment. The hotel lobby is looking jaded and the breakfast, while plentiful was of a unsatisfactory standard. If you like staying in modern comfortable hotels then this is not for you. If you want just a couple of nights to check out Bangkok then it will suit you fine."
Claus stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-03-06 and said, "We have stayed on Ambassador for 4 nights and It was a nice experience. We are a family with 2 children. The hotel has a good location close til the skytrain. Next we visit Bangkok - we will stay here again. The staff is very friendly and helpfull."
Douglas stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-03-05 and said, "A very nice hotel with a great location for downtown Bangkok."
Gudrun stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-02-19 and said, "central placed in Bangkok, a little old but nice. Nice staff. our extrabed was not comfortable a problem alike every other hotel in Thailand. We lived high up 26 floor and whith a fantastic wiew. The breakfastbufe had almost everything!"
Philip stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-02-15 and said, "Good:Location. Very close to Nana BTS station and in a busy area of Sikhumvit with lots of stalls, bars and restaurants round about.Bad:Room was not great for the price. The bathroom was very outdated and smelt. If you are not fussy about room quality and value for money and really just want somewhere to stay while you get out and about it s fine. I m sure there are better places though for the price."
Hasan stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-02-09 and said, "I booked room with twin bed for me and my wife, when we arrive to the hotel they gave us room with two small bed, when I called the front desk they said WE ARE OVER BOOKED TONIGHT WE GIVE YOU A ROOM WITH TWIN BED TOMORROW Next morning they put us in a room with twin bed, under the impression it was not their fault, it was the mistake made by the booking agency. Hotel was just OK, no cable or dishYou can just watch regular 4/5 chanels, no pay perview movies or showBath tub was not clean, hot water leaking/dripping all night long."
Edward stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-02-07 and said, "The Ambassador is an old Bangkok hotel and currently in the state of refurbishment. This did not however detour from a very high level of service. The hotel is agressively staffed and everyone is very helpful and polite. The room offered for this trip was old but very clean making this the bargin of the journey. I would definately revisit this hotel on a future trip to Bangkok as the location is perfect to Sukumvitt road and all of the fun in the area."
Domokos stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-01-26 and said, "We stayed for 2 days in the old wing. We were early arrivals, the rooms were not ready yet - however we had the chance to spend an hour at the poolside. The pool is very nice with a good, but little overpriced bar.The rooms in the old wing were smelly - no real non-smoking rooms, however it was clean and good for a sleep. The whole hotel is nice with good facilities. The old wing needs a serious renovation.Breakfast is very generous. Plenty of food, good selection, satisfactory for all.I would return again, but rather in the new wing."
Fredrik stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-01-23 and said, "Perfect situated in Sukhumvit area near shopping. 5 min walk from skytrain station. The room was clean and good standard. The staff was friendly anf helpative. Nice restaurants and stores in the hotel. I can really recommend this hotel."
P stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-01-03 and said, "We ve stayed here at least 5 times, and always had a good experience. Recently they have upgraded their rooms & bathrooms, so it is now even more value for money. This time, I lost my credit cards in a Bangkok taxi (my fault!), and full credit to the hotel staff, who were most helpful in helping us to cancel our cards, and lodging a formal police complaint - really, one can t praise them enough. There s also a very good tailor at the shopping complex within Ambassador - called Merit Tailors - who do the most perfect suits for you inside 48 hours, so that s an added bonus."
Jason stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2008-01-03 and said, "Hotel wasn t too clean. Looks like it s being renovated. Pretty good location, and the free included breakfast was great! Staff was friendly."
Zaim stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-12-29 and said, "The hotel was in a great location, i.e. City Center of Bangkok, room decoration and facilities are of high standard and have taste, very friendly staff and atmosphere. Hotel amenities are of high standard, the free breakfast was excellent, however, the juices / drinks were short felled at times. Would highly recommend. We found the hotel to be excellent value for money,!!!! WILL STAY AGAIN."
Michael stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-12-08 and said, "Nice clean room and very good buffet breakfast. Close to skytrain station, but walking to Rajaprasong area is possible. Some foreign tourists will like the nightlife on Soi Nana, but I was less than delighted with the clutter, touts, etc. Also, there were no regular Thai restaurants nearby, just Indian and other foreign. This kind of upscale hotel deserves a better location."
Panu stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-10-12 and said, "Not good!No one told us that hotel is making Renovation now... Standard room was very terible and very old. Aircon Was too cold and noisy...Breakfast buffet was good and big...Nice pool"
A.D.Nederveen stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-09-21 and said, "We stayed at Ambassador a few times, but now we have a very old room the floor-carpet stank and bathroom very old and no clean.....this have nothing to do with cleaning staff. The breakfast was excellent."
Testut stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-09-05 and said, "excellent location. No room ready when i arrived. except smoking ones. Had to wait quite long.Excellent service, breakfast. Still too expensive."
KEMNITZ stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-09-05 and said, "I stayed at the Ambassador a few times before, but for shure never again after my last try. I booked a quiet non smoking room and was offerd the exact opposite. The room was old, stank of old cigar smoke and was not clean at all. As I asked for another room, the staff at the reception could not understand why. So I had my driver talk to them, he is a thai national. I told them, that I will go to a meeting now and come back later. After I was away for almost 4 hours, they had not found another room by then. That made me leave straight away, I even had a discussion to get my credit card receipt back for the deposit I made when I came. The main wing rooms should not be offerd anymore unless they get a complete makeover."
Mette stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-09-04 and said, "The Ambassador has a great location. The rooms in the main wing could really do with som painting and updating. I was affraid the door to the bathroom would break off! The room was clean, no bugs.. and the staff is always very friendly and helpfull. I think the room is too expensive when you look at the standard."
Jiri stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-09-02 and said, "Very acceptable. The front desk staff was great. Our flight only left after midnight so we asked for a late check out. No problem and we checked out after 6pm. Good location. Would recommend."
Ms. stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-08-15 and said, "The setting of the hotel lobby is quite good. The room need to be redecorated since it was outdaeted (we were staying in the main wing on the higher level) but the cleaness is OK. The swimming pool made me a bite disappointed, most of the pool was 3 metre deep, and I m not a good swimmer, I can t enjoy it. The best part for the hotel was the service, the people there were great, they were very helpful efficient. The breakfast was wonderful, full of variety and fresh as well. The transportation and the location were great. Just take few minutes walk from the Nana station (the BTS) Thank you!"
Per stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-08-06 and said, "The reception is very impressive and the atmosphere is good. However, we were flabbergasted over the poor and totally unacceptable standard of the bathroom. It clearly indicates that the online booking of hotels is a jungle, and that we are the victims. The hotel is not recommended for use until the end of ongoing renovation."
kAUSHIK stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-07-16 and said, "For that price its okay. The service sucks and the rooms have not been renovated for some time. Awesome location and well prices as long as you dont plan to spend too much in your hotel its a good deal."
Testut stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-07-06 and said, "Reception/Lobby, Breakfast, Location and Staff are very good but rooms just doesn t match the standards.Good service, overall a bit too expensive but no surprise with the neigbourhood."
Scott stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-06-16 and said, "In great location next to Nana sky train. Pay the extra and stay in the tower wing, the main wing rooms are small and not as nice. Staff were friendly but the hotel gets very busy so be patient (Too many rude peeps in this world) Breakfast was great. Would stay there again."
A stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-06-14 and said, "We have been staying at Ambassador regularly over our various visits these last 2 years. The rooms are decent, if a bit shabby loking. This time, we stayed on the 5th floor, where the rooms appear to have been renovated with new flooring, so it was a better experience than previous occasions. The breakfast is good. What s best about the hotel is the location - it is just a 2-minute walk from Nana BTS station; this means that when you return totally shopped out, you don t have to trudge too far with your new purchases!"
Dr. stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-06-12 and said, "Rooms are not good. I wonder if they have double beds at all. One room had lot of bedbugs and we had to shift at 1 O Clock in the middle of night."
V.NAGENDRAN stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-06-09 and said, "I am a regular at Ambassador hotel-for over 3 years now !Rooms in the Main Wing look old & are fairly small ,but always clean.House keeping & other services good.Buffet Breakfast excellent - ideal for Indians/vegetarians !Location ,very close to Sukhumvit Road & Public transport.Health centre Facilities & services good. I like the ambience &will gladly return .Only the recent Tariff hike is disturbing !"
Fredrik stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-06-09 and said, "Worn down hotel anyone will tell you, but that was not my problem, my problem was not getting a NON smoking room even though thats what I orderd. The room smelled like it had been on fire! And the breakfast buffe on the 26th floor of the tower wing could have a LOT moore to offer. But still if you need cheap and ok hotel stay here."
Sanjay stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-05-21 and said, "Was comfortable but you need to make available tea coffee in the room.you need to redo the bathrooms with upto date fittings."
Phil stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-05-20 and said, "An excellent hotel. Room very nice, food excellent, good choice at breakfast. I will definately be staying here again."
Deepesh stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-05-18 and said, "The hotel is located in heart of shopping destination, with Sky Train nearby makes it perfect. But the hotel is old... vey old. Needs a make over. Rooms are big but old. Air Conditioning is not so great. The shower system is on its kind... too hot or just normal water. For the price I paid around 2000 bhats, I am sure one could get a better place. If shopping is your agneda then the hotel works good just to crash for the night."
kelvin stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-05-14 and said, "i have stayed at the ambassador hotel manytimes over the last six years,in 2002 i got married there in the convention hall, the sertvice and intenational buffet they provided was exceptional, great value to,sadly over the last two years,im sure there are new managment in place, the staff are no where near as friendly,as for the security staff they think they are the police, they never smile, now that for thais is very rare, most thais are happy in there work.single men beware you pay for a double or twin room and on taking a lady back with you for the evening the security staff will not let you unless you pay 600 baht extra, now for me that is wrong you have already paid for a double room.overall the hotel is great value, the rooms are to have a make over this year, which they do need, rooms are very clean, and the cleaning ladies who make up the rooms are excellent, nothing ever to much trouble.the room service menu has not changed in 6 years, and needs more choice.marks out of ten 6.mr k b laver."
Zayid stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-05-06 and said, "very good hotel with good location where it is a way from the noise. in the same time it is close to city. the hotel Facility are excellent (health clube, swimming pool,..).The preakfast is wonderfull and a lot of choises. the coffee ship is will orgainzed.I advised the traveller to stay in this hotel with value for money."
Lee stayed at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on 2007-05-03 and said, "The location is very convenient, just walking distance to BTS skytrain. But the service just so so. Especially when we called for hairdryer, and there is insects in the room and we called for the service to come in to get rid of it. But nobody turned up at the end. Breakfast was very good. Well, the rest of the staff, especially the front desk were friendly. It was good overall."
