George stayed at Andatel Patong Phuket on 12/28/2005 and said,  "Would not stay here again. Room Ok but overpriced. Reasonable pool area. Breakfast poor did not try other food. Reception staff tried to be helpful but sometimes could not understand very simple requests. Cleaners had a habit of taking away dirty ( and on one occassion clean) towels and not replacing them."

Edward stayed at Andatel Patong Phuket on 11/25/2004 and said,  "The Andatel was within a reasonable 10 minute stroll to the beach. Beds were comfy, A/C units were a bit loud, and the rooms were nice and clean with big toilets. Complimentary bottled water was provided (one bottle per day) which was nice and the pool was very nice. Breakfast was good and had a nice mix of western and asian fare. Mosquitoes and other flying insects are considerably more than what you d expect back in the States so don t be too surprised to see that many of them. The front desk staff was very accomodating and helpful given that myself and two friends literally descended on the place and within our first hour had three of their staff fully engrossed in arranging: 1. Scuba diving/snorkeling trip for the day after - the lady in charge of making excursion reservations was excellent in making the reservations as painfree as possible, be sure to get her mobile number in case your shuttle pickup to the diveboat is late - ours was over 45 minutes late and we had to confirm by contacting her directly. 2. Scheduling a spa reservation with the Hideaway Spa that evening (which is FANTASTIC if you get the chance). Beware the tuk-tuk drivers who try to tell you the place is dirty, too far, too busy, blah blah blah. The ride via tuk-tuk will be about $100 BHT but would only be about $50 BHT for locals. The Hideaway is NOT within reasonable walking distance. 3. Making reservations for dinner at Baan Rim Pa (expensive but EXTREMELY romantic with outstanding service). Andatel is located at the far end of the strip for Patong beach and is a 10-15 minute walk to the sections of town that have the go go bars and some of the transvestite shows. Our group actually preferred this since it tended to make our section of town a bit quieter during our stay. Security at the place seemed pretty good with staff making regular patrols of the grounds to keep out the riff-raff. Our only issue with the place is that it appeared to be one of the lesser known hotels in Patong Beach and that on two occasions our tuk-tuk drivers didn t know where the place was/dropped us off at the wrong section of town. Be sure you get an address card with map to the Andatel. "
