Joanne stayed at Lanta Casuarina Beach Resort on 10/21/2005 and said,  "This is a really lovely resort and very good value. We stayed in a seafront bungalow, which was truly luxurious and it looks like the rooms in the main building have a great view. The grounds and pool are beautiful. At the time we went there was a lot of cloud cover causing glare and there is nowhere near enough shade for these conditions. Strangely enough, considering the name, all the casuarinas have been cut down! The beachfront umbrellas would probably be enough shade on a sunny day. The bar area is pretty dull in comparison to other resorts and its loud music can ruin a peaceful afternoon, but the staff will turn the music down if asked. All the staff at this resort were delightful and made our stay a pleasure. The restaurant is fine for dinner, though more expensive than those out on the main road or up the beach. The northern end of Long Beach has some great beach bars - perfect for a cocktail at sunset. Koh Lanta was the highlight of our trip to Thailand; it s a beautiful and peaceful place."

Declan stayed at Lanta Casuarina Beach Resort on 04/06/2005 and said,  "Excellent. I had a seaview room which was immaculatlely clean and very nicely furnished, looking out to sea from the terrace/patio doors. Staff were very polite & friendly & anxious to help at all times, with passable to quite good English. There is a lovely infinity pool looking out to sea, a great relaxing way to watch the sunset. I was offered an upgrade to a chalet, which was very roomy inside but I stuck with my 2nd floor view. I was collected from Krabi airport for a very small charge, well worth it. The resort is on Phra Ae beach, which is a long, pleasant & quiet white sand beach, ideal for soaking up the sun or cooling off in the ocean - no hawkers or other annoyances. The resort restaurant is okay but menu could be more varied-it didn t matter as there is a pretty good beach restaurant 5mins walk away. The grounds are being improved at the front of the hotel but the rest of the layout was very green & pleasant. If you re looking for somewhere peaceful with great rooms & a very fine pool to relax at, somewhere that gives an affordable touch of luxury, then stay here. Certainly the best resort I saw on this stretch of the island -strongly reccommended"
