Tony stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 05/13/2006 and said,  "Very dissapointed in the standard of accommadation. We first stayed at this hotel about 4 year ago and it was ok, however the place needs to be completley referbished throughout. The room we stayed in was in an appauling condition the walls were filthy, the bathroom tiles looked as if they had mould on them, and the standard of cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, even the restaraunt area was dirty (flies everywhere). Same choice every day at breakfast. Not what you expect at the price you are paying."
Tony stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 05/11/2006 and said,  "Great place in the heart of Chaweng Beach. Many hours spent in the pool looking over the beach. Rooms were fine and the air con muc preciated at night."
Mark stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 04/03/2006 and said,  "To be honest, unless you want dirty un kept rooms like we had , then dont bother, we had the jacuzzi deluxe rooms and they were discusting. When we told the reception about the problems, they said we can leave if we wish, not sort out the problems, So in a nutshell find another accomodation if you can unless you want to slum it!!"
Jeff stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 04/02/2006 and said,  "good value for money good location"
Rachel stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 03/29/2006 and said,  "I am surprised to see the reception of the hotel the moment I arrived. For the price I paid, I expected something better and more luxurious. The design and architecture of my double deluxe room is beautiful. However, the interior of the room is not very clean and I have to call housekeeping service to clean my room again. I wonder if the room has been vacant for a while. It was very dusty, the curtains looked old and the pillows stained. The toilet has foul smell and I have to use my own rosewater to do away the stench. The room is overall good but quite rundown and needs refurbishment. The wardrobe needs to be cleaned also. The swimming pool is not as big as depicted in the picture in the website. The complimentary breakfast was terrible and the choices were very limited. Nevertheless, the hotel staff are helpful and very friendly. I would consider staying in Malibu only if it is being refurbished. "
Andreas stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 03/07/2006 and said,  "Very nice hotel in the middle of Chaweng beach. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Good food. Night Dining on the beach - didnīt eat the fish though cause it wasnīt fresh."
Katie stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 02/15/2006 and said,  "the rooms are really gorgous and desgined well. We asked for a room with a jacuzzi and was bit disappointed at the condition of bathroom plus our toilet kept backing up,but that aside, its in a good location beside the shops and beach yet its not noisey. I would recommend"
Angela stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 02/14/2006 and said,  "I stayed at Malibu 2 years ago and was so impressed that I booked again recently. I was quite disappointed this time around though. The room we stayed in was a little run down and the bathroom wasn t all that clean. I also didn t think much of the service. The place has so much potential, it s a shame they have let things go. But apart from that it s in a great location and the pool over looks the beach."
Anne stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 01/29/2006 and said,  "we arrived not too sure of what to expect from other feedback. We booked 2 rooms and although the resort is not a first class hotel , it provided for us everything it promised. Its an absolute awseome location if you wnat to be on the beach but in the middle of the shopping and entertainment areas.Yes there are other properties closer to the night life but as its only a 5 minute walk from the hotel , we felt that the mlaibu was perfect. Shopping and restaruarnts on the doorstep. Bthrooms are abit different from the norm but they worked, hot wtare supply is abit unreliable but thats ASIA. That happens in all parts of Asia. Other feedback indicated that the breakfast could have been better but keep it in perspective with what you pay at this place. Breakfast was a choice of about 4 cereals , toast , jam , tea coffee fresh fruits, bacon , sausages , ham and eggs cooked to order. What do you wnat for your money? If you are of asian decent then yes maybe breakfast wouldnt be suitable as there was no rice or noodles on offer at breakast time. We had aproblem with the safein the room in one of our rooms and the staff were there within 10 minutes to fix that so once again , we felt it was excellent value for the money and that is the important thing to remember. If you want first class facilities then pay first class prices rather than putting down these hotels. They provide excellent faciliies for the money paid. The beach north of Malibu is over crowded but at Malibu we didn t have to fight for a deck chair each day .Noise appears to be an issue with some of the properties in Koh samui but malibu is set back about 50M off the main street so there is not noise to disturb you at night. Great shopping on the door step and if you wnat a cheap massage , turn left as you get to thge main street, cross over to the other side of the road and just about 100M along there will be ladies dressed in pink tops ( they also wear bottoms as well) and they offer a great service for next to nothing. Most massages are about 300bhat. Some only 250 bhat so for about $7 USD you can get a very highly recommended massage. The prices are fixed so not haggling either. Give the ladirs a 50bhat tip. They deserve it.We would go back to the Malibu next time. Its a great place at a great price if you are not wnating Hilton facilities and services. It covers the necessities at a very reasonable price. To us it was in the best location. Right in the middle of everything. We did not use the hotels transfer service because of the negative comments in this forum but in hind sight it might have been a good idea. Koh samui airport is failry primitive and taxis are not queing up. That takes abit of haggling and depending on how tired you are that could create some problems for you. Its about 300 bhat to get a taxi from the airp[ort to the centre of Koh Koh Samui but some of the drivers will try to get alot more.Easy to get back as taxis are everywhere in town but at the airport there s not alot of choice."
Beverley stayed at Malibu Beach Resort on 01/27/2006 and said,  "This is our 3rd visit to this accomodation. The malibu beach resort is a budget hotel in a fanastic location - keep this in mind + there is little to complain about. Excellent position - on the beach and close to shops, bars and restaurants. The standard American breakfast is ok. Staff are friendly + helpful, the rooms are big + clean. Yes with little money and a bit of imagination this resort could be top class, but the price would double, look at the prices of its neighbouring hotels + resorts !!! {Baan Koh Samui, Beachcomber, Chaweng Buri}If you want a top class hotel - you have to pay top prices. The Malibu makes no false claims its room have all you need - mini bar, air conditioning, hot water, bathtub TV + even a hair dryer. VALUE FOR MONEY!!!"
