Mikael stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 07/10/2006 and said,  "I really advise against staying at Long Island Resort! When we checked in we directly saw that the pictures at Internet regarding the rooms didnīt correspond to the reality. After complaining to the hotel staff we where informed that the pictures was taken 8 years ago!! The room really sucks and is in a desperate need of renovation. We only stayed one night, and that was more than enough! I also wanīt to inform that the northern part of the Lamai beach is an old coral reef. You canīt bath in the sea here! In the morning is the low tide, and you then need to go over the reef about 200 meters to reach the water (not recommendable) and in the afternoon (3 pm) the water is about 0,5 m deep and dirty. Also the beach was full of garbage! We was lucky to be able to change hotel to Baan Talay at Chaweng beach and this was really a paradise. We recommend this instead !"
Amy stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 03/17/2006 and said,  "Long Island Resort was brilliant - the room was nice, but the pool and beach were even nicer! Really good bar and restaurant as well and a cool pavillion for lounging on cushions and hammocks. We met some really nice people here and the staff were also really helpful. It s well worth the 50baht songthaew ride into Chaweng of an evening to stay in this resort - we wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely come back next time we re in Thailand."
MR stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 02/18/2006 and said,  "Fantastic friendly staff, we loved them, specially Faye & Tim and the GIRL at reception. Clean and relatively good standart of bungalows. (RC to the TV please next time) Breakfast should be included in price"
Lasse stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 12/16/2005 and said,  "The staff at the resort was very helpful and understandig but we could nt stay there because the wall and the seeling had funges and a bad smell. The resort seems very kosy, but the bungalows deperatly needs a wash and a refreshment. We did nt sleep there one night. W ll not go back there unless they renovate the bungalows."
Dylan stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 08/07/2005 and said,  "This was my 4th visit to Long Island, and it will probably be my last. The resort now desperately needs to be updated - the communal areas are very scruffy and the bungalow I stayed in (beachfront suite - room 300) is well below the standard expected for the price (I quite like the rustic style however it was very dirty). On the plus side the atmosphere in the resort is very laid back and relaxing, though if busy it can feel too crowded. The views from the front bungalows are quite majestic and sitting on the balcony as the sun goes down is a perfect way to end the day (there is some criticism of the beach and sea, but it does not bother me). Food is disappointing - it has been much better in the past. Lamai is also getting very seedy - a much better bet is Bophut. This is meant as constructive criticism - I hope that the resort is updated and maintained so that it can again compete with what has become quite superior competition on Koh Samui."
Elisa stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 08/05/2005 and said,  "The resort is very good, although the superior room hasn t got a good toilet but clean!Tha place is excellent cause outside to the downtown of Lamai. The best place of this resort is the lodge in front of the sea with the beatiful thai pillow."
Christian stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 08/04/2005 and said,  "This resort had its best times maybe many years ago. We booked the best room they offer through sawadee.com after reviewing the comments and information on sawadee.com and the very own homepage of the resort. After we arrived at the resort a total different reality waited for us. For 3500 Baht the room was not cleaned (big insect cocoons on the floor, sheets were dirty or not changed, toilet seat was not cleaned, the walls were dirty, etc.). The beach on the picture (you see at sawadee.com) seems not to be anywhere near the resort. We arrived in the morning (9am) and there was no water at all near the beach. Maybe this was lucky for us, since we could then realy see the rocky ground of the area, where the ocean was supposed to be. They told us the water would be back at around 5pm, but anyway, swimming in this area would be nearly impossible. After we asked for other possibilities they showed us another room, but this was also not nearly acceptable. By the way, I suppose the wooden sidewalk to the new seemed to be very dangerous due to its rotten condition. The only good thing was, that they quite easily helped us to contact sawadee.com assistance after we refused this second room as well. Unfortunately, we had to pay 1 night cancellation fee, what I think is their main income at the moment . So, we can only warn everybody to make the same mistake. We then switched to the Jasmine Resort at the Lamai Beach (the real beach). A bungalow was there 1000 Baht more expansive, but certainly worth it."
Aimee stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 03/29/2005 and said,  "Long Island is a really cute resort. It is a little rough around the edges looks-wise, but its great to stay somewhere with a bit of character! They have a great pool, though I must say that there was heaps of women in the pool and around it with no bikini tops on, which by the way, is offensive to Thai culture. I myself dont really have a problem with nudity so long as its not in my face, but if you are a visitor to this country then I think you should respect the locals by keeping your bikini on!"
Gilles stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 03/12/2005 and said,  "Lovely, friendly and excellent value for money. The staff could not be nicer or more ready to help. Very beautifull and quite location away from the noise of Lamai Beach yet just a mere 10/15 minutes leisurely walk on the beach away from the action.Highly commendable. Will certainly go back..."
Guenter stayed at Long Island Resort & Spa on 03/11/2005 and said,  "Nice and spacious rooms right by the pool and sea; resort on a quiet spot on the beach; friendly and very helpful staff which makes your holiday very relaxing!"
