Chris stayed at Baan Bophut on 06/06/2006 and said, "Turned out to be a nice boutique hotel right on the beach in Bophut. Seaview rooms have a great view and if you are on the first floor, the beach is only about 30 feet from your door. The beach itself is pretty nice, but if you go in the water, you will find many rocks. We were more interested in getting some sun and reading outside so this wasn't a problem for us. The pool is not too big but since the hotel was half empty we didn't run into too many guests. During the busy season, I would assume that it would be hard to get a beach chair & hard to find room in the pool. This hotel seems to be geared more toward adults & I wouldn't recommend bringing children as there is not much for them to do. The breakfast was quite good: cereal, large croissant, plate of fresh fruit, juice & coffee. I thought Baan Bophut was a great value for $60 USD right on the beach. Staying in Bophut is much different than Chaweng but there are plenty of restaurants to eat at and Chaweng is only 10-15 minutes by taxi. The only downside to this hotel, is that the walls/doors are quite thin so during high season it would probably be loud. I would stay here again if I came during low season."
Alan stayed at Baan Bophut on 03/24/2006 and said, "My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the hotel where the room was clean and pleasant and the sea view magnificent. Friendly and attentive staff added to the enjoyment and the breakfast was superb. We would recommend this small hotel to anyone who wishes a quiet break. Keep up the good work Baan Bophut!"
Richard stayed at Baan Bophut on 03/04/2006 and said, "Well, in the first two hours of my stay my bathroom was flooded and I had to move to another room because of the noisy Brits in the room below me. I did settle in and found the rooms to be spacious and clean. The views from each room are outstanding. A picture postcard. The staff is also very accommodating. Maybe this hotel suffers from an identity crisis, on whether to cater to the under thirty party crowd or to the mature traveler. You take your chances. "
Katja stayed at Baan Bophut on 01/21/2006 and said, "very nice little place, clean and nicely decorated rooms with view on private beach; the right thing for a calm vacation; not many people on the beach and you are near to Fishermen s village for an evening walk. very nice staff."
Caroline stayed at Baan Bophut on 01/19/2006 and said, "WE were supposed to stay 10 days in that hotel, however we did stay only 2...
Knowing very well Bophut village we thought this new hotel would be great( we had the chance to visit it a year before).
However , we did get there and it was not what we did imagine, we had to wait for checking in ( No one at the desk, staff was by the pool plying guitar and singing!), pool was not working and pretty dirty ( Mold), rooms were not clean ( floors) , staff was OK.
I also did find a dead dog in a plastic bag by the beach and had to have some workers removing it from the property beach ( beach was not clean as well).
All that to tell you we left 8 days earlier BUT found the best hotel only 2 doors down with so many nice smiles!"
Andrew stayed at Baan Bophut on 01/16/2006 and said, "Beautiful setting. Rooms stylish and elegant. The beds are the best I have ever had in an hotel. Service friendly and efficient. The breakfast croissants were utterly fantastic. The Baan Bophut is situated right on the coarse sandy beach so that the views from your balcony are fantastic - clear across to Koh Phangan. It has comfortable beach-beds on the sand and fabulous padded deckchairs and axe cushions on the strip of lawn between the hotel and the sand. All the rooms have DVD/CD and the hotel has a good library of films if you get bored, we never had time to watch any. A short 100 metre walk takes you to the heart of the village - laid-back isn t the word horizontal better describes Bophut. No loudness or brashness just good restaurants, quiet bars and the sea. We absolutely loved it and will be back as soon as possible."
Vegard stayed at Baan Bophut on 01/15/2006 and said, "A perfect spot for a tranquil vacation, almost on the beach (10 meter with grass separates the hotel from the sand). Nice seaview from all rooms, which comes with varandas or terraces. Beeing a small hotel, you are never enclaved within the hotel perimeter, like in those big resorts: Here you can still watch what is going on in the community. The community here beeing the nice, small fishermans village . Very friendly staff and managment."
Teresa stayed at Baan Bophut on 11/27/2005 and said, "Great location on edge of Fisherman s Village, so plenty of bars/restaurants/shops to walk to. Lovely large rooms, clean with fab linen and beds. Great new facilities including DVD players in every room and a library of DVDs to borrow. Very modern fuunky decor with efficient aircon and some basic toiletries. Very friendly and helpful staff and owners, Flexible about breakfast times and content. The only thing the room lacked was a hairdryer, but I did borrow one from reception. Our only criticisms are the water at the basins is not hot, (as in a lot of cheaper hotels) which my husband finds a problem for shaving and the swimming pool was pretty grubby for most of our stay, it didn t appear as though anyone was cleaning it at all, though it did rain for the entire time. Also, the bathrooms are wet rooms which is great, except that the floor tiles are shiny flat and very, very slippery, and both I and my husband nearly fell several times. But, having said that, we loved it there, great rooms and quality amenities, so we will be going back, but with non-slip flip flops to wear in the shower !"
Steven stayed at Baan Bophut on 08/14/2005 and said, "Hello from Ireland all - After spending many nights on the internet searching for hotels, we eventually decided to choose Baan Bophut because of the good reviews and the pictures on the website. We booked it for 10 nights straight but it was a gamble that paid off! From the minute we set foot in the place and met the staff ,we knew we had made the right decision. The place was spotlessly clean and the hotel matched everthing the pictures on the web had shown (which is not always the case with some places). The rooms were larger than we had expected with a nice balcony and more importantly, the beds were the best we had ever slept on (I could even do a whole review on the beds!). Bathroom was also spotless with quite a modern feel to it. Rooms were equipped with ample storage, TV and DVD player (free DVD library) and air conditioning which is a must. Because of the size of the hotel you really get a personalised service - sometimes we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The management (Dom, Lucy & Mod) made us feel at home straight away and were ever so helpful and the staff were very courteous and professional.I personally recommend the seaview rooms as the views of Koh Phangan are great in the morning or evening. The bar was nice serving quality cocktails and cool beers. They even let us play our own music! We didn t eat at the hotel that often, as we preferred to try as many restaurants as possible, but anytime we did the food was of the highest quailty with nice presentation.(Angel recommends the Caesar salad!)The in-house massage service is also very good.Angel had a massage every day and she found Inn(the massage girl) to be friendly but also very professional. I even had a few myself. Well worth it and at a reasonabale price. All in all it was a pleasurable stay and we will definitely
return again someday - hopefully sooner than later. So a big hello to all the staff there and thanks again. A special mention has to go to Mod, the house manager, who was extremely nice with us
and helped us out with whatever we needed. She has great local knowledge and she is a classic example of how friendly Thai people can be and truly made our stay at Baan Bophut a special one-thanks again..... Steven & Angel"
Sami stayed at Baan Bophut on 08/13/2005 and said, "This hotel is like paradise. So peaceful and so friendly staff. I felt beeing almost at home there. I can warmly recommended this nice hotel to everyone, who wants to enjoy best service and relax peaceful place."
