Mr.Jeffrey stayed at PungWaan Kwai Yai Resort on 01/26/2006 and said, "The hotel is set in very nice grounds but the fabric of the hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment if it is to live up to its star catagory. There wasn t even a coffe/tea making facility in the room. Equally, the restaurant needs a total rethink if it is to be anywhere near reasonable. One evening, they provided a tour group with a buffet which the remainder of us residents were not allowed to access. This delayed our order considerably and the resulting meals didn t come near to their menu description. While the sweet menu had icecream as part of several choices, the hotel simply didn t have any during our 4 day stay. Bar prices were undoubtedly high and with the hotel quite some way from the main town, we were unable to go elsewhere easily. I think the hotel relies on bus tour groups for its main trade and when there were none, it became a bit like a ghost ship and none of the services functioned properly. We certainly wouldn t go to this hotel again."
John stayed at PungWaan Kwai Yai Resort on 01/15/2006 and said, "Very nice hotel.I did actually request a double room, preferably 1st floor, but got a twin on the ground floor. The staff tried very hard but the language barrier was a bit of a problem.Got the impression they are more geared up to dealing with Thai groups.Lovely river frontage and views, very peaceful. The nearby town is about 15-20 mins taxi away and the restaraunts around the bridge area close about 8.30 and taxis are then very hard to get.We thought about staying longer but once we saw the Erewan falls and bridge etc.there wasn t a lot more to do."
Christine stayed at PungWaan Kwai Yai Resort on 11/23/2005 and said, "This is a luxurious 4 and a half star resort with huge bedrooms; huge, empty hotel space and glorious gardens. However, this resort lacked intimacy and vibrancy. We were there for Chrismas but everything felt flat. Not cheap. "
David stayed at PungWaan Kwai Yai Resort on 01/27/2005 and said, "Excellent setting and facilities and certainly value for money. The staff are tremendously helpful and friendly, having gone out of their way to confirm our homeward flights and to arrange transport into town on many occasions. The only downpoint was the price of drinks - but at this class of hotel, one could half expect that. Buffet breakfasts were good - spoilt for choice and again a lovely complement of restaurant staff. 6 miles out of town - but the setting is worth it! We would certainly stay here again!"
