Chew stayed at New Empire Hotel on 05/01/2006 and said,  "The hotel is a bit old. The elevator is slow. Anyway, the receptionists are very friendly. It is quite easy to access to nearby China Town for shopping, easy access to restaurants. It is a good choice with cheap price if people do not expect much, as it provides basic needs. Good enough for rest after travelling in town!"
Birgitte stayed at New Empire Hotel on 02/10/2006 and said,  "Nice and simple hotel. Price fair to match equipment of the room and breakfast. Staff friendly, but all not very good at English."
Milo stayed at New Empire Hotel on 01/12/2006 and said,  "You get what you pay for. I was reminded of the hotel in The World of Suzie Wong . It was fun and very well located. My daily walks were a hoot and a half."
Anindya stayed at New Empire Hotel on 12/30/2005 and said,  "Run down hotel; no atmosphere. Long ill-lit corridors with rooms. AC blasted right onto the bed and kept us awake.. no regulation. The bathroom was leaky and dirty. The room was itself not much better. We looked down upon the Chinatown street at night. I guess you could say you get what you pay for. But, I would advocate staying elsewehere, especially if you are with kids"
Mark stayed at New Empire Hotel on 12/24/2005 and said,  "My room was noisy because it faced Yawarat, and the windows provided essentially no soundproofing. Food was bad. Much worse, the hotel smelled musty. Shortly after arriving, I began to feel ill with allergy symptoms. I noticed that the symptoms got worse whenever I turned on the air conditioning. Fortunately, I did not stay in the New Empire Hotel during my entire visit, as I travelled south for a few days. I switched to Bangkok City Center, located nearby on my last day. That is a far better hotel, and worth the additional expense. "
Mr stayed at New Empire Hotel on 10/05/2005 and said,  "My wife & I had a wonderful stay at New Empire Hotel recently. The exterior of the hotel is horrible and urgently needs a new coat of paint. However, as you go into the hotel, you can expect a great change in the interior of the hotel. The corridors and rooms are well maintained, very clean and bright. The counter and service staff are friendly and nice. For the price we paid for a two stars hotel; we got a four stars services. We holiday 2 to 3 times per year in Bangkok and for many years we had stay in Chinatown hotels ranging from the most expensive four stars to the low budget 2 stars hotel. The New Empire Hotel is the best for a very good rated two stars hotel. If you expected excellant buffet breakfast and excellant linens cum toiletry, this is a hotel not for you. If you paid for a budget hotel and expected minimun facilities than this is a hotel I strongly recommended. "
Mr stayed at New Empire Hotel on 10/05/2005 and said,  "My wife and I enjoyed our holiday in this budget-hotel. The exterior of the hotel is in horrible state, it needs a coat of fresh paint. However, as you step into the hotel, it is different, clean, tidy and well maintained. As this is a two stars hotel, the reception staff and room service staff give a four stars rated service. In a low budget hotel you can expect only minimum breadfast, linen and toiletries. If you expectation and demand is high, this hotel is not for you. People who paid budget price and satisfy themselves with minimun comfortable facilities then this is the hotel I strongly recommended."
Marion stayed at New Empire Hotel on 12/20/2004 and said,  "We were very satisfied with the New Empire hotel. It is realy very good value for money. Big, clean rooms with hot showers and airconditioning. The location is super! Right in the center of China Town, close to the railway station. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed here the first 2 nights and even after travelling for 5 weeks we are still convinced that this hotel is perfect!"
Mr.Frank stayed at New Empire Hotel on 10/14/2004 and said,  "Dear fellow travellers, we just returned from Thailand, ending 3 days in Bangkok. We stayed 2 nights in the New Empire Hotel and it is really value for money. Do not expect Western 4 Star comfort and beauty - but the rooms are really O.K. (big, clean, A/C, TV). Try to get a room on the backside of the hotel, no view, but much less noisy. We had a street side room and it was somewhat noisy, but giving a birds eye view on the Bangkok traffic mess and some interresting backyards. When back in Bangkok again we ll definitly go back there again - just ideally located... Enjoy your trip, Frank & Marlies"
John stayed at New Empire Hotel on 08/20/2004 and said,  "This was my first trip to Thailand, so i didn t know what the expect. i thought paying 800 bahts a night would give you a decent place. i was wrong and this hotel is wrong. First of all, we told our taxi driver where we were staying, so we told him and he snickered. The worst is yet to come. It seemed to be very shady, i m sure you can tell by the appearance. be very careful of your belongings. BE ESPECIALLY careful of your passport! Something very odd had happened with my friends passport where it magically reappeared. Also, before coming to Thailand, i was told to check out the hotel room to see if there were any peepholes. At first i hadn t noticed any, then i saw what looked to be a peephole in the bathroom ceiling. My friends and i felt uncomfortable so we left the very next day. Perhaps it was not, but it s still very questionable. The area where it s located seems shady as well and there s nothing to do at night there. My suggestion is to look for a place that s cheaper and not in Chinatown, perhaps you ll find something much better. "
