Sirkka-Liisa stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 07/09/2006 and said, "Reliable as Accor hotels allways.Nice, clean hotel sitated in Sukhumvit area near to everything. Little pool, good for morning swim and nice breakfast. Absolutely worth its price!"
Ben stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 07/09/2006 and said, "I was very impressed with this hotel, especially for the price. Modern lobby and generally spacious and well designed rooms. Good breakfast and a good position near the SkyTrain. Oh, and the pool is very nice too with chic wooden decking and a nice relaxation area. Very impressed and I can highly recommend the hotel."
Mrs stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 04/28/2006 and said, "Pleasantly surprised as this turned out to be a lovely Modern hotel.Has a boutique hotel feel.Room was clean though small for the King size bed and extra bed all sqeezed in.We were with 2 small children 2and 4yrs old and the bathroom was small too basically no place to stand unless u shut the door.We took hints from previous posters and requested for a high floor coz as someone warned ,those roosters can really be annoying.Nevertheless we were spolit for choice with the great breakfast...so many choices that it felt more like a brunch. The Hotel has a small pool on the 6th flr.I am still surprised that hotel staff don t speak much English despite the fact that it is frequented by mostly English speaking guests.(actually that is true for most of the hospitality industry in Thailand)is very difficult to ask for food or request for services unless u speak in short English almost like code language. Another thing, if u wanna be close to the shopping etc then this will be far from most places..u can take the skytrain from Phrom Phong station which has a shortcut thru the Queens Park Hotel but for a family it can be a bit of a trek especially in the heat.It was 20THB one way to Siam Malls. So I would recommend The NOVOTEL which is in SIAM district and so close to all the malls. I wish i d checked a map b4 booking. For those who don t mind posh shops and swanky stores the Emporium Mall is just a few minutes away at Phrom Phong Station. Anyway Thailand was too hot for us in this month of April/May and I wud suggest u hit the place only when the heat is bearable."
Alex stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 04/02/2006 and said, "Hotel was newly refitted and the Mercure rebranding has been a success. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Breackfast was good, plenty on offer and not to busy while we were there. Good location - about a 15 min walk to sky train station but it is a bit away from most attractions. Excellent Italian restaurant ajoining the hotel with good service and good food (a restbite if needed from the heat of Thai cuisine! Overall a good hotel for the price. If you are on business is would recommend this hotel. If on Pleasure then yes it has its charms especially if you want to be just outside the bustle of Bangkok."
Cicely stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 03/30/2006 and said, "The hotel was ok.The bathroom was very small for the price of this hotel.Breakfast good.Service also good."
Alvin stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 03/01/2006 and said, "A very stylish, value for money, clean, modern hotel with a very friendly service that was efficient. The only disappointment for me was the swimming pool which was rather small and quite bland to look at compared with the rest of the hotel/facilities. "
Donald stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 02/24/2006 and said, "The hotel was very modern and nicely furnished. The service was excellent. The only negative aspect was the doormen called a cab and loaded our luggage before I learned he wouldn t use his meter, and I had to negotiate a fare to the airport. It cost a few dollars more than a metered cab. Not a big deal, but I did feel I was taken."
Albert stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 02/23/2006 and said, "Nice Hotel and friendly staff. The room s are small and the pool area has not enough desk chairs. The gym is very new equiped. "
Richard stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 02/13/2006 and said, "this hotel is in course of gradual refurbishment - get one of the higher (renovated floors) and the rooms are of a very good standard - I was on 10th floor and the room was defintiely tired . Everything worked but it had seen better days. Breakfast is international and expensive if not included servcie is generally good. Internet prices at 750 ATHb for 24 hours (don t buy cheaper package). Location is OK - it s a eight - 10 minute walf to Sukhumvit and the sky train. Emporium is 15 minutes walk. I avoided the taxis who park outside the hotel like a plague - one wanted 300 ThB to go to airport plus 60 ThB for express way (no meter) I normally pay around 160 plus 60. if not trying to rip you off they are selling massage parlours. I simply walked across road and hired a taxi passing on the street. Tip - always get your destination written in Thai by hotel staff. Would i go back - maybe - but only if i needed to stay in that location. Wanted to try Regent Park - operated by same group but cheaper also on soi 22. "
Alec stayed at Grand Mercure Park Avenue Bangkok on 01/22/2006 and said, "very nice hotel located on soi 22 between sumkumvit and Rama 4 road. the rate on sawadee was MUCH better then the rate they quoted me in person so be sure to book on sawadee.com! Good internet connection in the room but pricy at 750 baht per day. room was very clean and breakfast was very nice. breakfast is in the viva vino the itailian restaurant (with great wood stove pizza at night). The second floor massage shop across from the queen hotel (less than a block toward sumkumvit and on the same side of the street as Grand Mecure) was profesional and cheap 200 baht for foot massage)...recommended! This hotel is much more convienent to get a taxi from vs the hotels on soi 5 where the taxi vultures wait to overcharge you. here the taxis stream by and are resonable."
