Schmidt stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 03/31/2006 and said,  "very elegant Thai design Hotel. Very stylish. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff is verry helpfull and friendly. The way tho Kaoh Sarn road is about 10 min walk. Itīs not easy to get there by Taxi because Visut Kassat road is not very well known by taxidrivers. But I always made it to the hotel. The aerea around the hotel is verry simple . I relly enjoyed my stay "
Francisco stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 03/29/2006 and said,  "Cool design (minimalist Asian decor) and an oasis of calm in this bubbling city. A hotel with personality. Good value for the money, good breakfast in a beautiful patio, internet in the lobby. I enjoyed the hotel despite not being too close to the sites (tuk tuks are plenty, of course). Do not book tours from the lobby, not worth it. 8/10."
Karina stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 03/19/2006 and said,  "Very nice hotel, comfortable location, not far from the airport (about 30 min), close to Khao San. I ve stayed here 2 times. Rooms are modern and quiet, staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a 4 floor building, but there is no elevator. The only thing I didn t like is the breakfast. "
Wei stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 02/24/2006 and said,  "excellent hotel with clean rooms ,staff were very friendly."
Ingo stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 02/22/2006 and said,  "This hotel has an awesome homepage with probably the best photographed pictures at all. Respect! Though the rooms really look not too bad there are some things one should be aware of. First the hotel tried to give us a Standard Room though we booked a Deluxe Room. This seems to be normal behaviour as other travellers reported this, too. After complaining about this we got a nice room on the fourth floor. I can t complain about the room except for the shower which only supported very hot and very cold water. The American Breakfast consisted of two toasts, coffee or tea, orange jam, butter, scrambled eggs, saussage, bacon and a terrible orange juice. If the hotel would offer additional yoghurt, cornflakes or so it would be ok but that s all they had. One has to keep in mind that the area of the hotel is not known by local taxi drivers and there are no Skytrain or metro stations in the near surroundings. Even thoug the hotel has a map in Thai we had no luck with 5 taxi drivers as they neither could read nor find the told road at first shot. Getting to the hotel was always a problem and lots of taxi drivers even refused to drive us there."
Z stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 02/20/2006 and said,  "This hotel is not known to many of the taxi drivers. Or they pretend not to know it. We had tried to arrange pick-up with Swana via sawadee.com, but that didn t work out. So, we decided to take a taxi from the airport, from an outfit named Travel East Company Limited. They charged us Baht 700 for the ride, which would have been okay had it not been for the obnoxious driver we had. He actually laughed at us when we told him where we wanted to go: Swana Bangkok Hotel, 332 Visuti Kasat, and kept on laughing and snickering until the sign for the hotel appeared in front of us. To add insult to injury, he made no move to return to us the change from the Baht 100 we had given him to pay the highway tolls (Baht 40 + Baht 30), and we were too glad to get rid of him to spend anymore time interacting with him. Our advice: beware! Take along a good map with the hotel marked on it on the plane into Bangkok. We ve travelled a lot, in places like NYC and DC, and never have we had such an unpleasant experience in a taxi. The hotel itself is nice. It is still very new (less than a year old at the time of our visit) and it remains to be seen how the upkeep will be. We noticed a few signs of wear, hopefully the management will keep on top of them. The room we had was small, but perfect for us. It overlooked the courtyard inside which was nice. The breakfast that was included in the room rate was okay, but just barely. My husband got the congee, and I opted for the American breakfast. I didn t want eggs or the meats, so I asked for only the toast, hoping that they would give me an extra serving. They didn t. I didn t expect them to, but I felt it would have been a nice gesture if they had. We didn t like the fact that our room door didn t have a security chain, a deadbolt or some other physical locking device on the inside. The layout of the place is quite open, and one can enter the sections with the rooms without going through the reception area, and we found that somewhat unsafe. We also didn t like that fact that the room keys were displayed in a glass case at the reception. We could easily have walked in from the street, glanced at the keys, and asked for one not belonging to us. Based on our interaction with the staff, we didn t get the feeling that they knew all the guests by sight. The staff was okay. They definitely did not go out of their way to help us. At one point, I asked for a copy of the Bangkok phone book. There were two people staffing the reception desk, and they both looked down behind the counter at one spot, looked up and said that they didn t have such a thing. My husband and I felt that they were not being completely honest. Upon seeing our astonished faces, they offered to ask directory assistance for us, which they did, and which took about three minutes for one number. I had a few places I wanted to look up, but I abandoned the idea after the first one. We just were not impressed. On check-out, they claimed that we had taken soft drinks from the minibar. We had not, and it took a little bit of going back and forth before we got that sorted out. Over all, I would say the place is great for the price we paid. It would take so little to make it an outstanding place (improve the service) that we hope the management addresses these issues (we will be sending our comments to them as well)."
Alex stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 02/17/2006 and said,  "Clean, good size rooms, modern amenities. Breakfast was a bit lacking - but served in a very nice courtyard. Would recommend - especially for the price! "
Katja stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 01/26/2006 and said,  "we stayed for 3 nights. the hotel is comfortable and clean. the building is new and the rooms are nicely decorated for a hotel of that class. we had some trouble to get a taxi driver to that hotel because the area does not seem to be known very well. walk to Khao San is about 15 minutes, walk to Dusit Park about 30 minutes."
JJ stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 12/30/2005 and said,  "Nice, clean hotel. Very difficult to communicate, most of service does not speak English. Location: far from the centrum, the entrance next to very noisy sky highway. You face everyday hasle of catching tuk-tuk or taxi. If you walk watch for dogs, they bite with no reason. The neighourhood very poor and dirty. I will not come back to this hotel. Watch the lundry service as well, they charge an arm and leg!!!!!!!!!! "
Lawrence stayed at Best Western Swana Bangkok Hotel on 12/29/2005 and said,  "This hotel is a mini version of the 5 star Metropolitan Hotel, i.e. modern thai style. In view of the price, it is a good hotel although the neighbourhood of this area is a very local area. Location close to Kaoshan, thus very good for night life. Breakfast not a buffet type, but good. From Siam Centre to the hotel, taxi price about 60B."
